WOW WOW WOW....... no one gave SL a chance and they almost pulled the upset of the season. After a win over Lafayette and the game tonight it looks like SL is back on track! Way to go Cards!

Jordan Hammonds and Trey Smith had nice offensive games, and Ty Proffit was very effectvie and hit some clutch shots despite foul trouble.

OJ Mayo is a sensational player, but he's not the force of nature-type player that Lebron James was in high school. Bill Walker is an amazing dunker, but he had no blocked shots, and hit no field goals other than his 3 dunks. North College Hill was overwhelming early, jumping out to a 19-8 lead after 1 quarter, but they really suffered when their 6'11" Jr Keenan Ellis got in foul trouble. South Laurel played with much more energy, but just couldn;t quie pull out the victory.

I've never seen SL play but I knew if they if they were as good as advertised they could hang. NCH is talented but they aren't as big as their reputation.

Did South Laurel play a lot of zone?

South Laurel did play alot of zone. Mayo got in foul trouble, his third was a technical after he hit a three. It must have been something he said that the ref heard and did not like. NCH then went to zone in the 3rd and SL made a run with some good three point shooting. NCH went Man in the 4th and came out with the win.

In my opinion Mayo is very good but he is not the next coming of Lebron and definately not the next coming of Micheal Jordan.

SL had the most trouble with the big 6'11' kid in the middle. He was long, could run the floor very well, and had a soft shot. He was MVP of the game and deserved it.

Proffit did a nice job at point for SL. The played great team ball and were not intimadated.

SL played great, NCH did not look like the #2 team. O.J. likes to stand around and shoot three's. To his credit he did get hit on the arm on some of his threes and it was not called but overall he did not look as good as I thought he did. Walker is an athelete and nothing more. Ellis looked pretty good. Hammonds played really well for SL. O.J. spent half of the third quarter on the bench w/4 fouls including a technical. Ellis picked up foul #3 in the 1st quarter and SL then made a run.

NCH seemed like they didn't come to play. I don't know why O.J. didn't penetrate or post up, I guess the zone had to do with it. He didn't even bring the ball up, just stood on the wing and shot. And mostly missed. He did hit clutch FT's to seal the deal.
