Ok, I am gonna try this again:

 

This forum is getting about as boring as North College Hill's Cheerleading squad doing their floor cheer....Wait, I dont think they cheered all night. They were just happy to be part of OJ's Posse....I enjoyed watching the cheerleaders stretch out for 10 minutes at half, to not even do one cheer. All they did was wave their pom-poms over top of the North College Hill players during timeouts.

Glenn is currently 12-5 and is actually a much better team than Westsider implies. They have a very athletic team with at least 2 D-1 recruits and a 3d that i can't remember his name. Anyway, without researching it any further because it's pointless, I agree with UKBELL on the Glenn victory was BIG. If Westsider were to have actually seen them play he would agree as well. But instaed of seeing them and forming an opinion, I guess it's easier to simply see 5 losses and discount them as not being very much competion. Here are the 2 being heavily recruited:

Marshall Moses 6’8” 230 SF (11) Kernersville (SC) Glenn . Very strong and versatile SF. Very good mid range game and long range jumper improving daily. A “sleeping giant” in the SF group. Can be one of the best in my book. Wake Forest and Uk are his favorites, but also have offers from Virginia Tech, Kansas, Clemson, and Cincinnati. Texas and Louisville are involved also.

Medium High Addition Eric Wallace. 6'7" 190 SF Kernersville (SC) Glenn. Explosive dyanmite wing player. Teammate of Marshall Moses. Great athlete and great scorer. Can penetrate and pull up and stick jumper with the best of them. Arizona, Connecticut, Georgia Tech, Florida, Michigan State, North Carolina, Texas, Wake Forest

Bottom line ... ukbellco14 claimed that Glenn was a "top team" in North Carolina, yet there isn't much evidence to indicate that they are regarded among the elite in that state. MaxPreps now has them ranked 28th in North Carolina. I've tried to find an AP poll, but to no avail.

 

He also made similar claims about Reynolds and Molloy ... both have been debunked.

 

I don't doubt that they're talented, but I've seen a lot of talented teams in the south. Frankly, many of them lack coaching, discipline, etc. Defense sometimes appears optional.

I don't like his off balance three pointers and forced 18 footers from the corner with people guarding him. Anyone know his three point % for the year? I would be shocked if over 30%.

I was told he was shooting 50% from the floor and 40% from 3. Thats not to bad. All of Henry Clays offense is pretty much 1 on 1 stuff. I think you can get stats on the Khsaa scoreboard.

So Glenn garnering a top 25 ranking in the tough basketball state of NC, as well has having 2 solid D1 prospects, as well as being the favorite to when their League (similiar to districts in the state of KY) isnt much evidence to indicate that they are not a top team in that state. Uhhmmmmm They are #28 on Maxpreps as of now...... however when SL met them they were top 25.

 

Reynolds is the only team that has been debunked.

 

Molloy is a very athletic, solid basketball team that plays in the tough NY Catholic League and is traditionally a top team in NY, even garnering a USA Today top 25 ranking in the recent past..... considering all this, plus how they played SL, I would say that they could play with most teams in this state. Vouch..... they are not a top team in NY, but are a good basketball team and deserving of mention. However I will concede and give it to you..... this year they are not a top basketball team in NY, although traditionally they are.

 

I love how you think you have "called me out" on the 3 schools SL played in the Carolina tourney. The only one you have REALLY "called me out" on is Reynolds..... but I will give you Molloy. I take total blame for a bad assumption. But it's time you admit that Glenn is indeed a top team in NC. It may not mean they will win the state title, but they are a top team.

Dunaway is 39% from 3 land.... and less than 50% from the floor. Per KHSAA website.

 

Not sure what his field goal % is from the floor though ...... but the fact that he isnt on the list on the website proves he is under 50%.

The last one listed is 60% so I wonder how you figured that out.

I am a Henry Clay fan and I've been to 4 or 5 of their games this year. I don't think that Dunaway should be mr. basketball. He looked awful during the Scott Co. game they absolutely shut him down. He did play good agaisnt Tates Creek (at Creek) but I don't think he played well agaisnt Station at Frankfort.

 

I think Slaughter is a better choice (I've only seen him once though) but from all the info I can gather I would go with A.J.

Seeing someone play once doesn't qualify you imo. All of the candidates have had bad games just like all of their teams have . You can't even judge a player seeing him 4-5 times. The one thing I like is they all are good kids. If you look back the past 10 years rarely has the best player won Mr. Basketball.The only one imo is Lofton.

1.) average a minimum of 5 field goal attempts a game

2.) have over a 50% shooting percentage.

 

Dunaway's name isnt on the list though, so I would assume that that is because he doesnt shoot over 50% from the field since its obvious that he takes 5 field goal attempts a game. The only name for Henry Clay is Victor Moses who has hit 114 of 183 field goals.

I didnt realize he was just a sophomore. Pretty darn good to be shooting 63% against the competition Henry Clay plays. Not to mention he is the leading rebounder for the team according to the KHSAA website.
