May 24, 201313 yr I've actually read about Fran. Looks fun.... Man I hope that's your sarcastic font.
May 24, 201313 yr I thought that you were focusing on Olympic lifts. That's why I said i was roped in to doing it. I felt like a monkey humping a football doing the pull-ups. But i will admit it was fun.

I could see Crossfit being cool for your conditioning if you kept it at the girls. If you went into some of that hero stuff, or the other ridiculous one's, it would be detrimental to your recovery.

You could take some of them and cut down the reps to make a shorter heavier metcon. Vance is good one...it's like Fran on steroids but would be long.
May 24, 201313 yr When you do Fran does it matter if you do the pull ups over hand or under hand grip?
May 24, 201313 yr When you do Fran does it matter if you do the pull ups over hand or under hand grip? Nope. As long as the chin goes about the bar you can use any grip you want. This is a WOD that is done for time so most do over hand because they are faster. Anything sub 4 is extremely impressive and to see someone go sub 2 is simply amazing. No chance of getting there without butterfly kipping the pull ups. However they are extremely hard on the shoulders.

May 25, 201313 yr Did Grace tonight...30 clean and jerks at 135lbs. Did ok but wasn't thrilled, finished in 4:44.
May 25, 201313 yr One of the guys I did it with did 2:57. Smoked the pull-ups Those pull ups are what kill me. I'm not lite so to speak 200 lbs, separated shoulder, torn labrum and a condition known as winged scapula. But think I'm gonna try it just the same.
May 27, 201313 yr Three more days in the book and seven to go until we do the 30 days pictures and measurements.
May 28, 201313 yr Author Two more weeks and I'm finished with the program. Did Max Interval Circuit today. After these 2 weeks are over, I'm going to start over with month 1 of Insanity. But I'm going to do about 15-20 minutes of weights before the 40-45 minute cardio DVD. An hour is about all the time I have to exercise. Longer than that and it's two difficult to find that longer chunk of time. And if I split it up into 2 sessions, I can't gurantee that I will finish it later. How about the rest of you out there?
May 29, 201313 yr Author Can I ask how much weight you have loss and how many inches you have loss? I can't give you anything accurate because I did not measure. I lost about 12 pounds total, and I am down a size in clothes. That's without really changing my diet. I think I hit a plateau with the second month of Insanity. The workouts are almost too long and some of the moves still very difficult, so I muddle through parts of it without using good form. I honestly think that the second month is set up for kids getting ready to try-out for football or basketball. :lol2: That's why I think that I need to get back to some weights plus the 40 minute Insanity videos. I feel like once I go back to month 1, I will be much faster and efficient and be able to really "dig deeper" so I can maximize every minute of the workout.
