405 should be smoked, looks that way with the press too! Nice stuff.

I didn't stick with it long enough (did 6 cycles) to really have to dial back anything. I was also ultra conservative in my starting numbers. I've never been a fan of any presses. I'd like to dedicate myself to getting a bodyweight press.

Started a new cycle of 5/3/1 this week. Did squats yesterday and today was bench. I normally do dips and incline bench as assistance but i've been having alot of soreness in my left shoulder and both incline and dips kills it. Instead, I did some push ups and core work. 3 sets of 30 weighted situps, 3 sets of 20 push ups, 3 sets of 10 toes to bar.

Here was something I did last night at my class.

Set the timer for 1 minute. Do 10 box jumps then do dive bomber pushups until the minute is complete. Jump back up and repeat for 5 straight minutes. The goal is to count how many dive bomber pushups you can do within that 5 minutes. I screwed up my first set because after I did 10 dive bombers I started jumping again and wore myself out the rest of the five minutes  .

I think I ended up with 47 dive bombers but probably could have knocked out 5 or 6 more had I done the first set correctly.

CrossFit tonight just took me down. The work out was 5 rounds for time of

15 Thrusters @ 75lbs

12 Toes to Bar

9 box jumps@ 24"

The work out itself wasn't that bad but I had one of the trainers pushing me the entire time. Really thought I was either going to puke, pass out, or die.

Finished in 15:30

I started his Yolk Building program. I'm giving that 8 weeks as part II of my first wave, or the strength/power phase.

Make sure you step down off of those boxes. Those are achilles land mines.

Day 49. Still going strong. They say that after doing something for 30 days straight it becomes a habit. I love my new habit.

I did the following workout today:

Standing overhead press (reps - x10, x8, x6, x4, x2)

Close grip bench (reps x3, x3, x3, x2)

Then did three sets of

2 minutes on a bike (1 minute rest)

1 minute hand release push ups (30 seconds rest)

30 seconds of toes to bar

Pretty good workout and I'm tired!

My jump rope arrived in the mail today. Tomorrow morning it's on, I'm gonna make Rocky Balboa look like a fool with my sweet footwork, looking forward to it. With that said I did bench again today and my shoulder still hurts/sore after but I was able to do 3 more reps than last week. Just not going to push it too hard, I'm not really experiencing any pain when I'm doing the lifts, just stiffness and soreness later during the day.

Anyone who wants to be looked upon as strong need a good Yoke. More than a barrel chest in my opinion. A serious yoke can be intimidating.

I'm not familiar with that program. I'll have to check it out.

Thanks. I've actually read that article...realized it when i opened the link. Must have forgotten. Thanks for the refresher.

Due to work issues (retail management stinks when a third of your team is out) I had to stay away from the gym for a couple of weeks. Been back for about a week now and cut my 5k time down to 28:30 tonight. Don't worry my fellow rookies I've been away but still doing this.

Rookies making progress!!

Today's WOD was Cindy.

20 mins as many rounds as possible of

5 pull ups

10 push ups

15 squats

I got 18. We did this work out back in mud Jan and I only got 15 complete rounds and then 9 push ups into the 16th round.
