After everyones box jump feedback I'm growing paranoid about the pain below my calf so I did some reading. It appears as though my soleus muscle is extremely sore from the box jumps followed by running. I made it through todays C25K run but it was painful and I'm substitute Teusdays run with a go at the elliptical.

You may want to just rest it until the inflammation dies down

That's what monday's for but if it's still sore Tuesday I will definitely hold off another day.

Ran 8 miles today totaling me at 23+ for the week.

Wow!

I'm still doing the C25K, but I decided to do double weeks, rather than progress on. I'm a little paranoid about my knee. I don't want to re-injure it and have to stop my work out. In addition to doing that, I am still doing a muscle endurance program on the elliptical for 30 minutes, along with weights and about 15 minutes of stretching at the end. On off days, I do some light free weights and yoga. I can't wait for summer, though. In addition to the workout on Saturday, I took my dog for a long walk in the park. I absolutely love taking her on hiking trails, but the ground was too wet for that. Bring on the warmer, drier weather!

Great to hear this! Sounds like you are moving along. Keep it up!

Indoor soccer tonight. ACL is intact, so I had a good game. I am horrible at soccer, but it is fun to play.

Leg press and extensions for assistance.

Throw in a leg curl or straight leg lift for hammys and glutes. Just for fun. Or you can get serious with a ham glute raise. Need to have something to anchor your feet for that.

I do either good mornings or Romanian deadlift and leg curls on my deadlift / front squat day. If you aren't doing good mornings or Romanian deadlifts you're doing your hammies a disservice. 4-5 sets of 15, don't go super heavy and concentrate on form. Your squat and deadlift numbers will thank you.

There ia also a way you can do this on a lat pull down machine. You can use the bar and weight as a counter weight. Real attention getter in the gym

This afternoon at crossfit the strength work out is finding your 1RM back squat. Since I do my strength workout in the mornings I usually just work on a skill movement while everyone does the strength portion. Today I will probably work on butterfly pull ups. I'm getting close to getting them down but still struggle.

The WOD today is...

On the minute for 12 mins

Odd mins do 3 power cleans - you pick the weight

Even mins 40 double unders

Snatch 5x5 (1 at high hang, 1 mid thigh, 2 below knee, 1 mid shin)

Hang Power Clean 5x5 ( Same as above)

All I had time for before work got in the way.

Figured I should start contributing some.

One of these days I'm going to start working more on my olympic lifts.

It would help if you let people know what you were working towards as you are the resident strong man.

Day 33. Did my strength-cardio-abs work-out. Then later went for a short run, maybe 2 miles. Right knee hurts. Has a small soft area on the knee cap. I remember my son had something like that once except much more pronounced and had it drained. I know, TMI!

Just going to take it easy on intense jumping, squats and lunges.
