Welp I got my scale in today. Bought it off Amazon Saturday morning and it already arrived today, that's quick.

5'10 202.4 lbs and 20.8 % body fat. I've got work to do.

I am not back to 100% yet but I'm still going to the gym. For some reason my right knee is hurting. I have not worked out or done anything strenuous for about a week, so not sure why it's hurting. I'm going to ignore it .

My lazy other personality took a nap and almost convinced the me that wants to workout just to stay home...but that ain't happenin.

My workout didn't go so well. Was going to do some Power cleans, thrusters and box jumps, but the knee was hurting too bad. I made it through the power cleans but wasn't able to do the thrusters or box jumps. I figured I'd just take some ibuprofen and try again tomorrow. I was able to run a little...not much though.

Any clue as to why your knee would start hurting for no apparent reason? It's directly above my right knee and it hurts when I bend the knee to try and squat. I tried to do squats with and without any weight and it hurt either way.

Third day of benching this year and it was a good one for a fat old out of shape guy like me.

225 for 11 reps and then ended the day by working my way up to and getting 315 for a single.

Inner, outer or right abover your knee cap?

It would help if you let people know what you were working towards as you are the resident strong man.

I have a goal to compete in a USAW meet sometime. I'm just starting to take the Oly lifts somewhat seriously so I'm am not anywhere close to being competition ready. My numbers in these lifts are very pedestrian. I have someone coaching me and I'm not allowed to really put much weight on the bar (probably for my own benefit and safety).

Above knee cap on the inner part of the knee.

I'm gonna guess some tendinitis.

Any suggestions on what would help it? It's not unbearable but I couldn't do squats today because of it.

Rest really is the best thing. Otherwise some days it'll be bearable and some days it'll be a grind.

I've already been off for a week because I've been sick. That's why I don't understand why it just started hurting.

I'd be less confused if Id been working out hard all week.

It could very well be something else. I just had a guess.

I'm also finding that as I get older joints ache even when returning from a layoff.

If its tendinitis try icing it. I have it in my knees and that helps. You may also try wearing a knee sleeve when working out. Rehband makes some really good ones but they are on the pricey side. I have there original blue sleeves and love them, made a huge difference.

What kind of weight are you getting on the snatch and cleans?
