Might want to get acquainted with Caldwell County being there the next couple years. They were sophomore dominated (including QB, Sindelar) along with a good junior class.

Congratulations to the Breds. Special kudos to QB Cain who stepped up and made the plays to win this one. What a season for him when you think back to everything that happened this year.

 

Also, the jinx has been broken. I believe this is the first time that New Cath has beaten Beechwood in the regular season and won a state championship. In their previous championship seasons they lost to Beechwood in the regular season.

Just returned home from the celebration party for the team. All I can say is WOW. If you ever wanted to see a great game that went back and forth with key 3rd & 4th down conversions, every "school yard" trick play, & unbelievable individual efforts then watch the replay of this one. This was a battle of two GREAT teams this afternoon that you could honestly say, no one deserved to lose. Both teams left it all on the field this afternoon.

 

To the folks from Caldwell County, CONGRATS on one hell of a year!!! The game you played today was outstanding and you can rest assured you will be making quite a few return trips to the finals in the next couple of seasons with the talent you have returning. The QB is going to be turning some head with his play, the young man has one heck of an arm and can move out of the pocket when necessary. Many on this site severely underestimated this team. You made your town and county PROUD by your performance today!!

 

To the Breds, early this season I ripped you while you were down, however when you were back to 100% on the healthy side of things you showed all of 2A that you were the team to beat. This is a credit to Coach Eviston and his staff for instilling in this team that CHAMPIONS overcome obstacles and the injuries to many key players early on would work themselves out as the season moved on. Today's game showed that you overcame many obstacles but continued to BELIEVE that you could get it done. Congrats to game MVP, Josh Cain, at the beginning of the season many doubted whether or not he was capable of taking over for Brady Hightchew (admittedly, I was one). However this young man proved MANY wrong this year and progressed into one hell of a QB, very smart player who was "money" with his passes and he will truly be missed.
