If human beings are involved, there will always be issues with how schools are labeled by those who just don't know. One mile south of I-275, Holy Cross suddenly becomes "Covington Holy Cross". About 50 miles further south, I have heard stadium announcers simply refer to them as "Covington". Whatever!

At least they don't have someone calling them Mayberry!

I guess I can relate. I hate it when people pronounce Caldwell as "Kuh-well" or "Quell." It's "CALD-well." One of Princeton's own radio announcers does the Quell thing and it drives me nuts.

Congratulations to the Breds on a great game . On a side note the home page for Caldwell Co . High School says that they lost to Newport 30-26 . They lost to the Newport Central Catholic Thoroughbreds not the Newport Wildcats . At least get it right Sheeesh .

 

How would people from Owensboro Catholic feel if it was posted that Owensboro won a game instead of Owensboro Catholic?

I'm sorry but living with and seeing the same mistake for over 50 years is not nitpicking its frustrating .

 

You don't read the KyPost, do you? Their prone to making the same kind of mistakes.

A school website is probably run/updated by somebody who has absolutely no interest in sports.

 

I'd be more upset if a SPORTSwriter made a mistake like that! (Like the guy from the kypost did...calling "Owensboro Catholic" Owensboro...)

well no I don't since the Ky Post as a newspaper doesn't exist anymore . It is just on line now and and it doesn't do a very good job there . That reporter was lazy too .
