I think he went back into the game for 1 play but i'm not sure on that

What a great game. Congrats to NC. Really impressed with #54. He just seemed to give 110% on every play.

 

Brady Thacker was called up as a freshman about midway into the season. Didn't start but was in the rotation.

 

Sophomore year started at center on offense and defenses line. (Brady played along side of two other offenses linemen that were 6'10 and 6'8, Brady is about 5'7) ( 2010 state champs)

 

Junior year unfortunately in the second game of the season he blew his knee out and was lost for the season. (who knowns if he plays that year they might have won three in a row)

 

 

Senior year got a concussion in the scrimmage before the 1st game this year, game time decision to play, played and hurt his ankle. I think he sat out the next two games and wasn't healty till about the 5th or 6th game of the seaon. Late in the year the coach started putting brady in the backfield when they goy inside the 10 I think he got 3 or 4 td's. (2012 state champs)

 

NCC had alot of players out hurt early in the year. Maybe 4 or 5 i don't know for sure. When they all got haelthy is when they started to put it together. Of corse if you 4 or 5 out that's on both side of the ball as most teams in 2a do not platoon.

 

I think that Coach Eviston doesn't get credit for how good of a coach he is. The in game adjustments are so good that I can even see that changes were made.

It looked like Smith was cramping late in the game. The frosh was not effective in the game and this was a non-issue.

The good news is, Smith was only battling leg cramps.

It looked like Smith was cramping late in the game. The frosh was not effective in the game and this was a non-issue.

 

Wow that's a little harsh. Effective or not it's good to know the young man just had leg cramps.

He was far from the only player that was having cramps. I think the warm weather was taking its toll on quite a few players, not just smith.

You must have missed the 2 kick returns that NCC at midfield or better.

How would people from Owensboro Catholic feel if it was posted that Owensboro won a game instead of Owensboro Catholic?

I'm sorry but living with and seeing the same mistake for over 50 years is not nitpicking its frustrating .

For better or worse, I'm probably one of the maybe two people in Princeton that actually knows the difference between Newport and NewCath.

 

At the Caldwell-DeSales game, I told someone from DeSales that NewCath had beaten Somerset in the other semifinal. They replied, "Not Covington Catholic, they were playing Newport!" I didn't argue and just moved on.

 

I'm afraid as long as the first word in your school name is Newport, you're going to get called Newport a lot. Especially outside of northern Kentucky.

If you had a subscription to the Princeton paper, you'd see that Newport Central Catholic was actually referred to as NewCath or NCC, so at least there's always that.
