As a Bluebird fan that made the trip to Bowling Green it was well worth the drive. It was exciting to watch the boys execute - make plays, and finish with the state championship.

Congrats to all the Highlands players and coaches on the championship season! The tradition continues! Best wishes to Coach Mueller and his extended family, and a special congratulations to Coach Weinrich on the big win as "acting head coach" last night!

Does anyone know when the underclassmen begin lifting weights in preparation for next season?

 

One year my son was called up on Saturday after they got back from state in the middle of the night to lift with the O-line. It was not a team thing though, just the next year's leaders wanting to get them started right.

Great job Birds, Congratulations. Thanks to all the young men, coaches, cheerleaders and other support groups and their families who give up a tremendous amount of time in pursuit of their dreams, letting us share in them along the way. A special thanks to all the seniors, it's been great fun watching you. Good luck with your futures, you will be missed. Congratulations to Collins on a remarkable achievement in only your third year. I expect to see much more of you.

I was thinking more along the lines of the song often heard on M*A*S*H..."My Blue Seven" (heaven). Congrats to the team and all of Bluebird Nation!

I personally think even if HHS was allowed to stay in 5a, they would still have 6 straight championships. Our friends from BG would disagree!! If BG and HHS were both in 5a, I think we all agree the state championship games the last two years would not be blowouts - would have been GREAT games to watch. Moving down to 4a has even made it more possible for HHS to rip off 10 in a row. If they move to 3a next time Ky. realigns, they may win even more.
