November 30, 201213 yr He won't be getting better money by going to Auburn. I think it would be a bad move for him to leave UofL for a few reasons. First, we have the ability to pay him whatever it takes to keep him. That's a plus. Second, UofL is in a pretty good position right now. We're moving to a much better football conference, but the conference should be winnable more often than not. On the flip side of that, I think Louisville would be more understanding if they had a couple down years. I don't think Strong gets fired if he has two consecutive five win seasons. And finally, he'd be leaving a fan base that absolutely adores him. So IMO, I think it would be way to risky of a move going to Auburn. Please explain to me how the Cards, who haven't exactly dominated the Big East "would be moving to a much better football conference" that would be "winnable more often that not"?? While I can agree the ACC is a better football conference than the Big East, what would assure them success in that conference?? While they've been strong in the Big East (not hard to do), they've hardly been dominate and be expected to be overpowering in a better league??

I completely agree; the ACC isn't a power conference in college football that some consider it. I believe the Cards will be competitive immediately.

Strong was passed over by several schools before UL gave him the opportunity, maybe he is one of the few coaches who appreciate what he's got going on where he's currently at. :thumb:
