If he is gonna get good money to go to the sec why wouldn't you. Better money, better conference, easier to recruit. Auburn recently won a national championship if people forget that. I would hope he would go to UT that way they can't poach CBJ

 

He'd be dumb to leave Louisville for Rutgers. Auburn would be a promotion.

 

He can go to the ACC and legitimately compete for the ACC title and a BCS bowl every year at UL. He's not going to win anything at Auburn as long as Saban is at Alabama. He can stay at UL and see success and be adored or he can go to Auburn and get fired after going 0-4 against Bama. Strong is 52 years old. If he gets fired he won't be hired as a HC ever again. Money is no biggie. UL can and will likely match any salary Auburn offers. Auburn just fired that coach that just won them that title a mere two years ago. Yeah, looks real good for Charlie. He's not beating Bama, LSU or Texas A&M. He better stick with UL.

Sounds like it, but also need to know the same number for white coaches. I would also think more black coaches have been hired (and thus fired) recently, so there may be proportionally more of them still waiting out the "in between" period coaches go through before getting a 2nd shot at a HC gig.

 

No matter how you spin it 1 out of 41 getting a second chance is not a good look for black coaches that get fired.

IMO in dealing with Charlie directly several times, Charlie is full of alot of hot air, and will say anything to please the peeps, but does what every he wants and doesnt care one bit about commitments or prior words spoken.

For the last 2 years we have held a passing tournament at UofL. The first year, Charlie said he was going to talk to all the kids before the event began and just make a presence before we started. No call no show.......I can accept this maybe, things come up. This year, he agreed to to sign our trophy balls (which we pronounced would be signed by Charlie Strong) and then refused to sign them the day of the event when he was in his office stating "why should I care about MS football."

 

Also this year as he was outside of Papa John's with his family that day, I asked him if he wanted to come in to Papa Johns as we were just getting ready to start the championship game. His remark was, "No, and hurry up and get the "Explitive" off my field.) His wife and daughters where standing right by him.

You're absolutely foolish if you don't think he'd jump at the right opportunity....Is that Auburn? Maybe, maybe not, but I'm betting if offered, that Arkansas job won't be passed up. JMO.

I busted RP on here previously for saying Charlie wouldn't look. I then heard his interview and he locked himself in like no other coach I've heard. No other coach says "I'm not cut like that."

 

If he does leave that statement will haunt him.

41 black head coaches ever should be the first telling stat. Only 1 rehired should be the second. Without looking anything up I'm guessing there are at least 10 white head coaches that have been fired that are actively coaching D-1 football.

1) We're all just ASSUMING (me included) that the stat for black coaches is hugely disparate from white coaches, but we don't have any info.

1a) We're also assuming that the 41/1 stat is accurate (and current) to begin with.

2) Even if the numbers ARE vastly different, there are some potential explanations that would temper my outrage.
