It is difficult for a team that plays multiple players both ways to keep up for all 4 quarters against a team that two platoons. We see it happen everytime. I can reluctantly attest to that.

That was my worry against Harlan, thought their ground pounding would wear cooper down in the 2nd half, but they seemed to get stronger as the game wore in.

 

Either way, it will be hard fought. BG will have the more rested players, but knowing there is only 1 game for everything, the players will leave it all out on the field.

I agree.. The only thing is when you can't catch your breath there is nothing you can do about it..

I know this is a Bg Cooper thread, but I wanted to comment on John Hardin being gassed friday night. That is not a true statement. They were fresh. John only had 3 kids going both ways. They dominated Bowling Green everwhere except on the scoreboard. It took a trick play to beat them. The purples were held to only 6 points at that point in the game. They were tricked but not gassed.

JH played very well...I will have to disagree with you on JH being gassed. We were at the game and when JH took their last time out, a couple of the players were told to stand up when they were in a huddle on the field. These players actually kneeled and one sat on the ground. It is hard to go both ways when you are playing a team that does not have any players going both ways.

Also, the JH players started celebrating thier "win" when there was almost 2 min left. That really hurt the team as well...the players were jumping around and hugging each other. A hard lesson JH learned. The game is never over until the clock says all zeros.

I think this game is pretty close; I'm hoping to see the Jags bring the title home to NKY, but the Purples are great, which everyone knows who follows high school football throughout the state. Good luck to both teams.

Actually I said AFTER they won regionals that the rest was icing on the cake. By the way I don't think You'll find a bigger Jags fan than yours truly.

I don't think the gap is bigger in 6A. If that were the case Trinity would not have had as many close games as they have.

I think BG is the best in 5A. It is not by a huge margin at all IMO. They have had to defeat some really strong, physical, senior laden teams in the playoffs. Cooper will fit in that same category. I'll take BG in a close one throughout the game, but ends up 28-14.

With 18 starters returning in '13, the gap that LCDawgs talks about may be real next year.
