You can say that Highlands is predominantly run oriented, but, between McCoy and Houliston (backup quarterback), they have passed for 3055 yards and for 35 touchdowns.

Was going off stats. In fact McCoy has a QB rating of 118 - very good. Did not mean not take away anything from the QBs.

Are you sure they would lose?.....Really sure.....two scores at home with this team.....I would still like the birds chances....you seen first hand what happened to Boyle first game of the year. Dont think they will be down two scores but if they were i wouldnt panic.

My only point was that I am not sure Highlands is predominantly a running team. A lot really depends on the game. Some games all they do is pass. Other games they pass sparingly. So they are probably more of a balanced team, only in a weird way.

Have you seen LC play a second half against another two-platoon team? My guess is that LC wore down BC in both games. Would definately give the appearance of LC getting stronger when in reality it is the opponent running out of gas.

Im sure that they have had their way with others in the second half...but Highlands makes half time adjustments better than anyone LC has faced....Like i said two scores and thats if they are down at half and i dont see that happening. Even if its tied at half I like Highlands chances in the second half....it is what it is until someone can knock them off. Highlands does what it needs to do to win....first half second half dont matter. LC will bring it but i dont think it will be enough......I have been wrong before but dont see it.

Well I've heard it all now. With the way this young QB from LexCath slings the ball the deep, I was told that HHS is preparing for them by using one of those Vortex footballs. You know, the one Elway throws 90 yards down field. The juggs machine doesn't even throw it that far. HHS's DB's are preparing for the looonnggg ball for sure. This game might be like watching an ole Mumme game at UK under the old airattack. I predict a few takeaways in this one by my Birds. Defense is to good IMO. And offense led by the dominating line play and speed of the backs, Birds should put up some quality numbers. I expect a similar score from last weeks CovCath game. Go Birds!

This is the difference between Highlands and others, they not only 2 platoon they do it with about 35 different kids during a game.

I sometimes get caught up watching the opposing teams coaches reactions during a game when Highlands starts running 2-3 new players on the field every single play:idunno:

I stand by my statement. IF.....and I mean IF LexCath is up 21-7 at the half. They will win. LexCath is not Boyle County and LexCath is not CovCath.

 

 

And keep in mind, I said Highlands will win so this whole what if argument is pointless. We all pick Highlands to win anyways. Just saying if LexCath is up 21-7 at the half they will win.

Many of those yards came when they played the game w/in the game. Highlands does not want to go 50/50 in a tight game. They'd prefer, strongly prefer, to run the ball. That being said, Highlands doesn't have to complete 10 passes to win. As you know, and as CovCath fans know, they will throw 6 deep balls. If they connect on 2 or 3, it completely opens up the running games as safeties have to respect over the top.
