I agree! I didn't think we would be able to stop Boyle at all! I thought they were going to run us out of our own stadium!! However, I do think HHS is in a much better place now than they were in the first half of their first game. I think they were still finding themselves in a new season with a new era without Towles. They found theirselves in the second half of the Boyle game and have not looked back since.

 

I know other teams improve as the season goes on, but this particular HHS team has really impressed me with the way they improved. Could be me looking at it through the HHS goggles, but I'm much more confident with this team now than I was at the beginning of the season.

After watching some highlight films on the Birds from games this year it look like this will come down to Power football vs. Finesse and speed football.

 

As usually the Birds line looks great on film. And I love the setup with 2 linemen in the backfield near the goal line. No secrets in a lot of the sets but even if you know whats coming its hard to defend. And though the Birds rely less on the pass the QBs have outstanding QB ratings and are very efficient and effective when passing.

 

LexCath will rely on speed on both sides of the ball to get the job done. Offensively, spread sets and passes and counters are used a lot. Most of the skill position players are above average or outstanding speed. So much of the strategy is to get players in space and let them go one on one with a defender or use their speed. On the defensive side the 3-5 is still the LexCath defense of choice. All the starting LBs are athletic and fast. Normally the Knights like to blitz at least one or more LBs out of this configuration and will call different 'plays' each down. No simple cover-2 here there is is always movement before the snap. So speed is key on defense as well. LexCath has been able to stop the run heavy teams in the red zone after letting them gain 60 or more yards in a drive many times this year. I am not sure they can do that so well against the Birds.

Yes but they can be happy with the photos of their players. Why in the world would the Enquirer put pictures of CovCath players making plays when they are no longer in the playoffs. Stupid IMO Sure lets show Zach Harris getting stuck by DJ Powell and fumbling the ball.

 

That should make up for the headline.
