This is the problem and always has been with this site. Your response to my comment about running up the score was quite immature. Clearly it is not the most clueless, that one falls on comparing Beechwoods speed to Frankforts. However, I simply stated that Beechwood has had a history of lop-sided games. If you actually do follow Beechwood then you know of the building I speak. To be honest, I'm not talking only about the games in the last two decades, my experiences can go back to the times when they were handing it off to Geno Terry. The fact remains that Beechwood and Frankfort have a few teams on their schedules that stuggle to keep up with even their 2nd teams. Not much anyone can do about those games and as a coach you certainly cannot ask your kids to stand down. The great thing is that on friday night, the "disrespectful and undisciplined" Panthers will come to Ft. Mitchell for the right to play Mayfield.

 

True, that is a problem with any written correspondence, which this site is all about. It is easy for comments to be read a way they weren't intended. Your post that I replied to seemed to infer that Beechwood runs up the score on people. I should have just asked the question as I did in my post and waited for your reply. Instead I went with how your post looked and pointed out that Beechwood doesn't run up scores. I apologize for coming across as strongly as I did but I didn't want anyone to get the thought in their head that Beechwood runs up the score.

Sometimes, running up the score can't be helped. You can't tell your 2nd and 3rd teams just to take a knee for a whole half of football and alot of times, some of these teams can't even compete with the JVs, so, it gets put on em pretty good.. As long as the coach isn't trying onside kicks and passing downfield up by 60 late, then I don't think it's running the score up..

Frankfort always shows the up-most respect their coaching staff is very respectful, some kids might get a little carried away but they are just showing emotion. Frankfort plays their hearts out with such a small team. Running the score up? When has Frankfort ran the score up? 78-0 Ludlow? What are you suppose to tell the athletes, not to score? Frankfort I believe put in JV/Fresh as soon as they hit the 40 mark. There's nothing wrong with running up the score in high-school football. They are just teenagers. :irked:

:idunno: Are you saying Beechwood runs up the score? If that is what you are saying, your comment will go down as one of the most clueless comments I have seen on this site. No coach I know of works harder at keeping the score down than Coach Rash. His starters played just a hair over one quarter versus Ludlow this year because the score was getting out of hand. Rash will play his starters to get to the running clock and then the starters take a seat. I have never seen Rash do anything to run up a score and I have seen him make every effort to keep scores down.

Couldnt agree more VOR, I'm not sure there is a coach in NKY, well make that KY for that matter, who respects the opponent more than coach Rash. Does he want to beat their collective brains in, of course he does, but he does not want to embarass the opponent.

First of all the number was 18, the poor decisions were handled in a swift and strong manner, situation over with. I am 100% confident that none of the student athletes at your school ever make poor decisions....congrats, you are the only school in the state that can make that claim!

I have been around Frankfort for a long time and they used to be in a district with Harrodsburg, Lexington Catholic and Garrard Co (Jerry Perry era) the took several beatings. I didnt hear anyone complain, I just heard the Frankfort coaches talk about getting better.

 

One year FHS went to Harrodsburg and was beat 83-0. During that game I watched the Panthers onside the opening kickoff, fake a couple of punts along with several other things tp try and win.Not one coach fussed at Alvis Johnson about the 83 points. I heard the Frankfort coaches say it is out job to stop Harrodsburg not Harrodsburg job to stop themselves.

 

So either your kids need to work harder or your coaches need to work harder, maybe it is a combination of both.

 

Frankfort could sit around every year and make excuses about why they havent beat Beechwood. More money, better facilities, better players. But instead of complaining about what they don't have the get up every day trying to get better.

 

Frankfort wants to be the best. They want to be compare to Beechwood and Mayfield. The want to be the King of Class A. So what we do is work harder not get on BGP and cry because we think someone has ran up the score. Our JV practices too and they want to score and tackle too.

CoachBuckett you said a mouth full here and I agree with you get better and shut up. Your freshmen and sophomore's want to play also and not just go in to say I stepped on the field. Just look up Beechwood Road 41017, But I think it's 51 Beechwood Road. Come down from Dixie HWY as it's only a couple 100 yards from it. If you don't get there early you may want to park in the Kroger lot as there is a gate behind Kroger, just don't park right in front of Kroger.

 

If you are going to be looking for food, they have prepared food in Kroger as well as seating, there is also a Subway in that shopping center. All of the fast food places are just a few minutes away at the Buttermilk Pike exit off of 75, as well as some nice local places. Or, go to a local place such as the Greyhound Tavern just about 1/2 mile from Beechwood Road down Dixie HWY.

Well said CoachB, I remember watching a Frankfort Danville game back in maybe 2005? It was when Alonzo Tillman was a senior at Danville and the score ended up being 69-0. I never once seen Frankfort give up or complain. They always have that maybe next year attitude. And I remember the first time Frankfort beat Danville on their senior night of Antoine Robinson's year. It was like finally, we bettered ourselves. Frankfort finds a way to win and finds a way to play with pride no matter who they play. Good luck to you and the Panthers Friday Night!

54 Beechwood Rd., Ft. Mitchell 41017

 

Take I75 north to Dixie Highway exit. (the exit immediately after Buttermilk Pk. exit)

 

Turn right at end of exit ramp onto Dixie Hwy.

 

Beechwood Rd. is the second light; turn right and the school will be on your right about a block down.

 

The football field is behind the school. You will be able to see the field lights behind Krogers as soon as you get off I75.

 

Parking is tight so plan on getting there early. You may have to walk a couple blocks to get to the field depending on how big the crowd is.

The Greyhound is excellent! They are known for their fried chicken and their pork chops are a favorite also. It is a sit down dinner so if you get to N. Ky. early and have an hour extra, you can't go wrong with the Greyhound. If time is short, there are many fast food places at the Buttermilk Pk. exit as sportsguy said above. If you want the biggest and best burger you ever had at a football game, come on in to the stadium. The grill will be working at the stadium I am sure.
