I don't see Tennessee as that great of a job. They face some of the same problems as UK as far in-state talent and they do not have the success recruiting regionally as they once did, with the better kids from SC, GA & NC staying in state more often. The days of them being one of the top 2-3 teams in the SEC are long gone.

Tennessee produced far better football talent than Kentucky.

IMO UT may be the best job open. Just build a state of the art weight/training complex, spent around $2,000,000 on recruiting (compared to UK's 300K or so), rabid fan base with some deep pockets and a state that actually produces more than a handful of D1 prospects. They have shown in the past they'll throw money out for Asst's. If any UK target becomes a UT target we are way on the short list of that discussion.

There defense is top 10 almost every year. It would be a huge upgrade to what Uk had. Why'd they give up 37 points to UF, field positions and turnovers from the offense. The d kept them in that game all night and got worn down from being on the field the whole game. But you're probably right UK can do better than a top d coordinator, it's a super attractive job.

 

 

They should have a great defense with the recruits they get, Ky won't get those recruits.

I don't think any of you all are gonna like this but I just talked with someone who's friends with some boosters at UK and he said that it will likely be MacIntyre from San Jose State that get's the Kentucky job. He said that Butch Jones will go to Tennessee, Stoops to Auburn. He also said that the Boosters are not very happy with it either. Expect an announcement soon, maybe tomorrow or Tuesday but an announcement would likely be made this week.

Not a bad resume and would appear to be familiar with both the South and the NFL, which has to help some with recruiting.

What is his overall record? I was hoping Brown from tech would come on as OC but MacIntyre will probably bring his staff with him

I don't think the majority of the UK fan base is going to be happy with the hire regardless of who it is.
