The point is maybe UK needs to fire a shot instead of taking them more often than not. Everyone in the business knows the UK job is 80% career suicide and 20% "might survive 3 years". They are struggling to find a taker with 3 mil plus on the table. You are still refusing to see the "difference"???

They should have a great defense with the recruits they get, Ky won't get those recruits.

 

I won't and can't dispute that they will not get the same overall recruits that FSU does, however they could get one or two of those recruits based on his credentials. UK will more than likely never get the recruits that the top teams do but if they get someone with the ability to recruit top talent they can at least get a few good prospects to be more competitive.

People and fans have to remember there is a difference in UK being interested in a coach and actually offering them the job. Barnhart very well could have called Stoops and Jones to gauge their interest and talk a preliminary salary amount without a formal offer. That's why we can't get caught up in some reports that say Barnhart and Jones/Stoops have talked and others that say neither has been offered the job. Both may very well be right.

Yes and most likely yes...

Matt Jones says he feels 80%-90% sure that a coach will be named in the next 24-48, so you can take that for what it's worth. Also says he believes it's either Stoops or MacIntyre.

I think MacIntyre would be a better hire than Stoops. Either way, UK's commitment to improved football facilities and resources is the only way any hire will have a chance of being better than "same ole, same ole".

Not with that defense that is more talented than any UK defense will ever be that still gave up 243 rushing yards to Florida. His name recognition lands him the job if he gets the job. Is he even related to Bob Stoops?

I don't know much about him, but I have to think "Stoops" takes him pretty far.

I know it would never happen but why does UK or another D1 team in need of a coach give Larry Kehres of Mount Union a call? He may not be a long term answer but he could do some good things in just a couple years.

 

I'm not a UK fan really, but I know Larry Kehres from when my son played for him. The guy can flat out coach! I would like to see what he could do at a higher level. Would be an interesting hire.

Appears Stoops could be official by the end of the day.
