Great time at the game. As GT said, WCS is going to so good once he can put it completely together. He may end up being one and done if he can do it this season. Nerlens was just about as I expected. Archie is going to be a top 10 talent with the way he can fill it up. I loved #2 for Northwood. At 5'2, he never backed down from a challenge.

His hands and feet are what jump out to my scouting side. Guys that size usually take a long time to get there and he has it naturally...

Great hands and agility for a guy that size. Was an excellent WR in high school and made numerous one hand grabs and other catches you just wouldn't expect from a basketball center. All that athleticism really translates to the basketball court and he's only going to get better. The definition of upside and potential.

I have no reason other than my gut, but I feel like Willie will be as good as Noel.

Fully agree.

Is it just me or does anyone else see limited minutes for Julius Mays once we get into SEC play?

His defense is lacking for sure.

Jon Hood played 3 minutes....why didnt he transfer?

I think he will get pretty decent minutes. This team is going to benefit from his maturity and deep threat.

Not a Jon Hood fan by any means, but sometimes (and i am going to sound corny) it's just about fulfilling a dream. Most likely growing up all he wanted to do was put on a UK jersey, and he has done that. If minutes were his main concern I don't think he would have came to Lexington in the first place.

My thoughts on the game:

1. First 8-10 minutes were awful, but much expected from a freshmen rich team.

2.WCS is a fluid athlete and moves really well, better than Noel at times. Give him some real minutes and that dude will be a baller.

3.When Noel gets assertive and aggressive around the rim full time he will be a force to reckon with--I think we saw flashes tonight.

4. Goodwin can flat out get to the rim, and he is gonna be stellar this season.

5. 6-9 from three land, I like!

I know it's early but as far as style of play Goodwin reminds me of a cross between Knight and Wall. Doesn't seem as explosive as Wall but great at changing speeds and finishing the play.

Love the kid. If I was Cal, he would be my starting point guard. He was the leader of the team tonight.

Cats looked ugly early with all the turnovers. But I thought they ended up playing better than I expected. Goodwin definitely impressed me the most. His motor seems to be running at a better speed than everyone else. Nerlens played well too and I think he can make a living on putback opportunities. WCS continues to impress, mainly because he is 7 feet tall yet runs the floor so well.

Disappointed with Poythress. Cal has been harping about trying to get him playing with the same type of intensity we see in Archie and what we saw with MKG. I still think he will be the scoring leader by year's end. Wiltjer is still slower than molasses, but can flat out drill the open three. Clizzy made a funny Twitter comment about Wiltjer and his lack of mobility.

Not sure what to make of Harrow. He doesn't seem to have a distributor mentality, but perhaps I am looking at it wrong. Archie was at the point more than I expected, and I think that is somewhat telling.

Fascinated by the 5'2" PG for Longwood. Kid wasn't afraid to mix it up. Twitter line of the night, though, was made at his expense. The Turkey Hunter (KSR guy) tweeted that Longwood's #2 looked at Wiltjer at one point during the game and said, "What you talkin' about, Wiltjer?"

I'm a little (just a little) worried about Noel's offensive game. He doesn't really seem to have one. He's big, so he'll score if spoon-fed under the basket, but didn't show much in his arsenal tonight outside of put-back dunks and the aforementioned spoon-fed buckets.

I keep reminding myself of Terrence' Jone's awful first scrimmage against Pikeville his Freshman year. He looked totally lost, and he turned out just fine. Hoping for the same for Noel.

First game jitters for all I am impressed with Archie and like someone said with the two tall guy's and one can shoot from 3 pt land will be great. I think by start of games this team will be fun to watch. JD
