I think this team will be a lot like Cal's 2nd team. A lot of losses on the road. At this point no way this is a Final Four team. This team needs to improve in lots of areas. Should be an interesting season watching to see how much they develop and improve during the year.

-Noel is gonna be a clean up man around the rim, and will average around 10-13 a game. He does not have the jumper Davis did, and I think it is rather ignorant to compare the two. But, the mainstream media will continue to do so for the entire season.

Teague didn't practice it all year the year before.

Not a Jon Hood fan by any means, but sometimes (and i am going to sound corny) it's just about fulfilling a dream. Most likely growing up all he wanted to do was put on a UK jersey, and he has done that. If minutes were his main concern I don't think he would have came to Lexington in the first place.

Are Polson, Long, and Malone scholarship players? If he's worried about finding a few more scolarships, he doesn't have to look much farther, especially the last two.

I'm glad Hood is there and stayed. He's a 4 year KY kid. I think by his SR year he'll be a leader who will be a key roll player.

UK didn't even have 13 guys on the roster until Todd Lanter showed up. If Polson, Malone, Long, and Lanter aren't on scholarships, there are FOUR free spots this year.

 

Mays and Beckham will be graduating, so assuming NOBODY leaves early, that is 6 spots for next year. That's one for every currently committed 2013 recruit plus one to spare.

 

There is nowhere near a scholarship shortage at UK (and likely never will be under Cal).
