This may change a few things for Beechwood....

Featured Replies

I have been told that sometimes kids " drink heavily" right before they come to the party, like on the way or something. So be on the lookout for kids that seem drunk when they show up. If they get sick or pass out at your house, it becomes your problem.

I'll tell you that we used to do that. I can also tell you that we didn't invent the idea.

Are the boys that were suspended allowed to be on the sidelines tonight?

I'd hate to be a kid out injured and be standing with the boys that are suspended.

From a couple posts by the Beechwood faithful, it sounds like they will NOT be on the sidelines tonight, which is probably a good thing for those standing with injuries.

No kidding. You almost want for those players to have their names released so that they don't get mixed up in the mess and have their reps take a hit.

You have to be the uncool parent.

Supervise, stay alert, grab their red solo cup and take a whiff, and take sip.

All kids must come through the front door of your house and pass by you, even if the party is outside.

If a group shows up that you have never seen, ask them if they even know your kid. If not, send them away.

Girls with purses and bags....you take them from them before they head to the gathering.

If a kid needs to "get something from his/her car", you go with them and say it's for safety reasons because it's dark.

I like this but here is my take on parties for Teens and I have 2 of them 19 and 17. Not at my house, sorry. If you have to have booze and it aint cool to hang out at my house without it then go somewhere else. I hear all the time about parents in this town letting their kids drink and I just shake my head. How stupid can you be? All it takes is one kid to get Alcohol poisoning or drive away and kill someone.

In the past, I believe suspended players were not allowed on the sidelines. I'm not certain what Coach Rash will do here, but I understand they will sit in the Locker Room during the game in their Dress Clothes. Not "Team" gear on the sidelines. Originally someone said they were told they were not allowed to be at the game, but I don't think that's the case.

It's certainly not for me to decide. Personally, I'm happy if they just don't get to play. This would have been a game where everyone, including the Frosh, would have seen significant Varsity Minutes. That's pretty good punishment.

I'm looking forward to Saturday Morning. Where it officially becomes the next week and we get to move on.

I would put a sign on my back....Bad Back !!! Injured Knee !!! LOL

High School kids were drinking at a party? No Way! This is an Outrage! I'm Stunned!

I was telling someone yesterday that if I was injured I'd put my gear on anyway.

Also, did anyone think maybe Richmond's son could have just been put in a tough spot? Had some of his friends over for a party and then all of the upper classmen show up with alcohol. Do you want to tell all these kids that they have to leave, or do you want to get along with these kids and have them think your cool? In my opinion, this kid may have been thrown under the bus a bit. He may have been the most drunk kid there, I have no idea.

Total BULL IMO, I would hope this father explained to his son the ramifications of drinking on thier property before this incident happened. I know I have explained this type of situation to my daughter and I think she is fully understanding of what she should do. That being said when my daughter has friends over and are gathering on the deck I step out there ramdonly to make sure there is no "fun business". Plus I have no problem letting them know that I better not see any alcohol.

Just borrow some crutches for the night.

I don't think their reputations will take a hit. I think we all realize that this is something we all did back in the day, only they got caught. I wouldn't think any less of them, it's just high schoolers being high schoolers.

I'm entirely blown away at how overblown this whole thing has become...Crazy.

I agree, it won't be a popular opinion but this is getting blown way way out of proportion.
