October 15, 201213 yr Now if we can get the people to stop complaining and whining about those who always complain and whine. Stop whining.
October 15, 201213 yr I agree. He deserves it. I hope he gets that World Series Championship in the next two years. I'm not saying there won't be a time I criticize Dusty over the next 2 years, but I'm on board with the extension. This. I support Dusty, but he makes decisions at times that I criticize. But at the end of the day, the man has done a lot of winning with three different franchises.
October 15, 201213 yr Entire coaching staff will be back as well. Man I'd love to hear something about Rolen being added to his staff. If you ask me...put Rolen coaching at first base, and Hatcher at third.
October 15, 201213 yr Author Man I'd love to hear something about Rolen being added to his staff. If you ask me...put Rolen coaching at first base, and Hatcher at third. He doesn't want to coach. Not right now at least.
October 15, 201213 yr He doesn't want to coach. Not right now at least. I was talking to somebody over the weekend who was saying they'd bet Rolen would want a break. Has he said that publicly at this point?
October 15, 201213 yr Man I'd love to hear something about Rolen being added to his staff. If you ask me...put Rolen coaching at first base, and Hatcher at third. I honestly think Rolen will come back in a reduced role as a player.
October 15, 201213 yr I think Rolen will fade off in the sunset, be coaching high school basketball in his hometown and enjoy his retirement. Good dude.
October 15, 201213 yr Author I was talking to somebody over the weekend who was saying they'd bet Rolen would want a break. Has he said that publicly at this point? Pretty much. He said something about wanting to spend time with his kids on a number of occasions. If I was a betting man I'd put my money on him retiring.
October 15, 201213 yr Lord knows I'm not a big Dusty fan but the players wanted him back and that's good enough for me. I will still complain about the multiple lineup changes but oh well, nobody is perfect.
October 16, 201213 yr I honestly think Rolen will come back in a reduced role as a player. I think the Reds need him to come back. They've got no one else to fill the leadership void that will be lost when he retires, IMO.
October 16, 201213 yr Dusty should not have a job. He should've been let go. I know BGH agrees and it's b/c BGH is a better coach. If BGH was managing the Reds they'd still be playing. Some of the decisions in the playoffs were awful! I know, I know if they would've worked out then they'd be good, but they didn't & the team choked! It was a Cubs-like collapse! He is the mgr so he gets the blame...that's the way it works in pro sports. I realize my opinion will not be a popular one on here but that's how I feel. Time to cut ties with Dusty & Stubbs for that matter. I also read on another post / thread that some may blame the GM for a weak bench etc. Well, if that's the case then let them go too.
