This Is The Worst Kentucky Team Since ______?

Featured Replies

Fill in the blank, because I'm drawing one. I had to look it up to find that 1982 was the last time they won less than two games.

In my lifetime I've seen my share of bad UK football teams.I do believe this team is the worst of the worst.

My answer would be YES...

Been watching for a long time...this is the worst team I've ever seen.

Worst UK team I have seen in my 38 years of existence.

I don't think this is the worst, but I don't think I've ever seen a team from any program or level get less from the sum of its parts, to realize so little potential. Part of that is injury, but most of it isn't.

I'd say it's a tossup the Mean Machine from The Longest Yard or Wildcats starring Goldie Hawn! Been going to games since 1980. Said going into this season I am done giving them money until they raise their expectations for being great. I might go to one this year to tailgate, see friends and keep the streak alive. For almost 30 years I've watched about every game. I've seen about 2 quarters this year thank God!

The Cats might have come back had the game not been shortened due to weather. Joker and Rick Minter have the defense looking sharp!

I recall a statement to this effect about a high school game a few years back.

my birth

In 1982, I was a senior in high school and went to the last UK home game (vs Florida). As I was walking through the parking lot with my younger brother, a guy tried to give me his tickets on the 40 yard line.

I told him "no thanks, I have tickets." He had been tailgating for a while and was pretty liquored up. He said, "Would you take the tickets if I give you $10?" I was young but I wasn't dumb but I still asked, "Why would you pay me to take the tickets?" He replied, "This team is so bad that I want to be able to tell people that I had to pay to get rid of the tickets." He was still laughing his brains out when I left.

This is a true story. I took the tickets and the money. The Cats were 0-8-1 at that point and would finish 0-10-1. Commonwealth Stadium was probably half empty and they weren't even very concerned about taking up tickets.

For anyone who has played team sports, just imagine how tough it must be for the UK players right now. Being on a good, tight team is as great a feeling you can get in sports whereas being on a bad team is the pits. I feel sorry for these players. They must dread practice. I don't see how it will get any better.

Well one thing after this week they will play Samford and three of the four worst teams left in the SEC. Perhaps a chance to beat Samford and maybe win one of the two home games??????? (Missouri or Vandy). The other game at Tennessee I think is a problem but at least they are not playing any Top 25 teams after the Georiga game.

I think that is a fair statement.
