This is a misleading statement. Duke has 14+ people in the NBA and as far as NBA superstardom the exception of DRose(who was going to be a superstar regardless of his coach) Cal hasn't made any superstars. Josh Harrellson and Lance Thomas are the same people. Let's not get carried away.

Sorry Purple. My intent was not belittle K or Duke. It was a response about how many players who aren't 4 or 5 stars truly go on to superstardom.

Okay. It's all good. Just wanted to be clear. :D

Yes.....is the answer to the question!!

I have asked this before. Do you evaluate "best recruiter" by the number of *****, or do you judge "best recruiter" by identifying guys which far exceed their high school ranking?

Basketball is much different than football when it comes to player evaluation. Most 5 star basketball recruits end up being the best in their class or at least near the top. I realize there are exceptions but look at the past 5 or 6 NBA drafts, most of the top picks didn't come out of nowhere.

By getting the best players, and lots of them. The guys who identify talent that exceeds their rankings would be considered better talent evaluators. Not hard to evaluate the talent on the guys Cal has been bringing in.

Just simply yes....yes......yes.......yes.......and yes!!!!

Is there a better recruiter than John Calipari? Is there a more moral person out there than Aaron Tippon? No and No!

Sam Gilbert was the best. Cal is 2nd.

I bet a lot of current college coaches that would vote yes in this poll.

That is what I was thinking but I couoln't remember his name. Year in and year out UCLA amassed a tremendous amount of talent.

I have to say yes. Back in the old Sam Gilbert days kids stayed 4 for years, but that's not the case anymore. Cal pretty much has a different bunch of guys every single year. That's unheard of imo.

The system he has going is pretty crazy.

1) Get half of the top 10 kids (whichever 5 you like best) every year.

2) Develop them individually and as a team so they all shine

3) Send them all to the draft to make room for the next 5

Its basically allowing him to monopolize the top talent every single year. If most of them stayed every year, then some of next year's top 5 end up at a rival. With the one and done guys, he can take a huge number of the top guys from every class and leave everyone else to fight for the leftovers.
