Yeah ok, I am getting a little confused. Page said the game was rescheduled for Sat. Any type of printed schedule that was ever sent home from school that I received said game was TBA or listed as Fri/Sat. So pretty sure nothing was ever set in stone for Friday game. Especially with travel time. Could be wrong though.

 

Now as far as Whacky saying game may be cancelled, which I'm guessing he was told due to construction from like Jack said, the FTSC peeps, I find this hard to believe. Yes, lots going on up there right now, but can't believe for one reason that DCM won't be ready. And if not, I'm guessing some heads roll and nice size fines will be implemented on Contractors doing the work. I say it will be ready. It may take a group effort to make it happen as in when the field went in years ago, so everyone, be ready when the Bird signal comes out. Yeah Whacky, you can come help too.

In addition to my significant financial patronage, I would be willing to offer my physical attributes as needed in order to ensure the Birds enter the season unhindered.......and still undefeated.

Love a team or hate a team, I've never gotten openly rooting against a high school team as an adult. I hope Highlands wins and earns NKY respect outside of the state of KY. There is little more annoying in high school sports than listening about all of Florida's speed, like every single kid down there is faster than every other kid due to living in the Sunshine state. Welp, HHS is as fast as it gets in NKY, so we'll see how that stacks up. I, for one, hope that they crush University Christian.

How can anyone predict the outcome of this game? We have nothing to compare the two squads to.......The Birds will either wax or be waxed which is what makes this game a must see.

Are these two positions not mutually exclusive of one another? They had one kid do each last year and will likely do the same this year unless something unforeseen comes up.

Recently, the Kicker and punter duties were handled by 2 different players, but the coaches will play whomever is best and if that is 1 guy or 2 so be it.

 

Also, I think punting is seen as a defensive play to some extent, therefore Coach Weinrich most likely chooses the punt team. Conversely, PAT and FG is an offensive down and those units are put together by Coach Mueller. That being said, I am sure several coaches opine based on things they see in practice as well.

I for one want a Highlands win but close enough to make UC want to come back again next yr.

They had 31 players on their varsity roster, 3 were frosh. They lost 14 seniors to graduation, and 4 were soph. I will go out on a limb and say they don't platoon.

I've seen a lot of the squads that play on ESPN don't. The MD school that St. X lost to a couple of year ago went both ways, and many of the Florida schools that I've watched do as well.

I watched UC's State Championship game from last year and I don't think HHS will have a problem beating this team..They are a very small school from Florida and looked pretty one dementional..

Max preps had university as the #92 team in Florida last season and highlands #2 in ky.

Totally unrelated but Moeller had a heck of a schedule last season. Beat the top team from Maryland and Michigan along with the #3 team in Michigan. Also cathedral and won the championship, hats off to them.
