I havent had time to read this entire thread as I am on vacation but just got a text from my U of L buddy who is tight with the program as a whole and huge financial supporter. He says the TE moniker is all bull as they have nobody behind Bridgewater and apparently similar situation where they have some solid QB commitments like Purdue and dont want to scare them off. (ie...Bolin) Apparently the kid behind Bridgewater now has terrible knees or something....im just going off a text. Dont be surprised if Pike isnt throwing the ball at Louisville as long as he can keep his nose clean.

The player you're talking about with knee issues is freshman QB Will Gardner. He missed basically his entire senior season after tearing his ACL. My understanding is that he was still on crutches during the open practices this weekend.

Confirmed with a player that he is there today.

That should keep the QB recruit(s) happy.

Hearing that Pike will either play TE or DE and that has not been decided yet, but it does sound like QB is not in the picture at this point...

We could use another good TE.

Charlie Strong was quoted as saying they're not sure what position they will use him yet. Fortunately, the RS year gives him some time to see what he needs.

All I said was he wasn't sure which position he was playing.

That's what the exact quote said. I know the guy that asked the question with context. He isn't getting a look at QB as it stands. While it could change, that was the basis of the quote. Is he playing TE or DE as QB is not on the table...

He better get his butt in the weight room if he is to play either TE or DE. He looks rather soft and his size won't help him run over people in college ball like he did in high school.

And he shouldn't be. Just because he was an Elite 11 QB doesn't mean he was one of the top QB's. Most of those camps are baloney anyhow. There would of been 50 QB's better than Zeke Pike as Frosh this coming year. He needs to count his blessings that Louisville would even consider giving him a try much less let the kid dictate where he was going to play. A long road ahead still. Imo

I can't blame him for not going back to Auburn after seeing these practice uniforms...

Is that a screenshot from the new Will Ferrell movie?

I am told that Zeke is off to a good start at UL. Working hard. Keeping a low profile.

Great news. I really hope things work out for him.
