I also wish World Championships, National Championships, and whatever else there is would be covered televised more!! My son has fell in love with swimming because of this Olympics!

Did you see that the first Saudi woman in history will be competing in this year's games? I believe she's in a track event...a 200m something, maybe? I agree 100% with your reasoning. I always root for the Sudanese long-distance runners, for instance. What these games mean to them FAR surpasses what it means for those in wealthier nations, IMO. And their challenges far surpass those as well.

July 31, 201214 yr Soccer-style game invented in Brazil. It's played with a smaller ball on a small, usually indoor court, which means a lot more skill in handling the ball is necessary to get around defenders than on a full-size soccer field. There are some other key differences as well (the lack of an offside rule can be particularly fun). I've come to love watching it in the last couple years. There are some pretty incredible highlight videos on YouTube if you get the chance. MISL?

August 1, 201214 yr MISL? No, indoor soccer is different. It's played on artificial grass and has walls. Futsal has a hard court, like a basketball surface, and has out-of-bounds lines.

August 1, 201214 yr I just want to remove anything that creates added potential for favoritism, partiality, or cheating. Only allowing 100% quantifiable competitions is your best bet. Then I guess you really DON'T want baseball, softball, basketball, etc. Because there are these things called referees & umpires, who make judgement calls all throughout the games. Can't have any of those.

Can't have any of those. I really want to see scoring systems that are based entirely upon simple quantifiables, where judgment calls are at their utmost minimal. For example: If you ask me, if I were in charge and baseball were in the Olympics again (which it absolutely would be), I'd chip the balls and track those babies digitally. Now MLB...that is a game with umpires, and it should stay a game with umpires, but for the sake of the Olympics, if you're measuring each nation's best versus best, I want a computer calling balls, strikes, fairs, and fouls. Already addressed that
