I believe the answer to your second question would be: bitterness.

Here is the way I see it. Beechwood has one of the Top Football programs in NKY. They put a good product on the field each and every year. So the program recruits kids on its own. No need for coaches or anyone else to do it. The name Beechwood does it.

 

So don't get mad at Beechwood. Be mad at your schools product and help to improve what your school is doing.

I completely agree with the above post. If a kid is transferring, there has to be a reason. Dixie should be the one to blame because they are, in some minds, inferior. Dixie should be better and not give a reason for kids to transfer. Be like a Beechwood and have a complete school (academics and athletics) that "recruits" itself. Be special.

 

Also, the question everyone should answer... WHAT IS BEST FOR THE KID?!? Everyone is talking about whether it is football related or not, but it is about the kid. If this move is better for him, they it is smart.

Glad to see 99% of the people around here are in touch. The other 1, err 1%, suffering from jilted lover-itis apparently.

Kid is coming back from an injury. Maybe he lost his spot at Dixie to one of the talented sophomores.

 

I'm sure he did not "lose" any spot...I do believe there could be a little tension tomorrow during the 7 on 7 drill betweeen these two schools!!!

I find it kinda funny that normally this time of year, we are discussing the student transitions of players that end up at Highlands, Trinity, X, Cov Cath, maybe a Johnson Central, you know the big guys................and yet the last week has been about Holy Cross and Beechwood. Im glad we are showing the small schools some love

Good idea, let's do keep it real here. There's a ton of reasons for it but the one you seem to think is a large advantage had little or even nothing to do with their early success when the program was really built. They have built on that success to be what they are now.

So the answer to my question is yes. You should get over it. The parents made a decision to move and change schools. Their reasoning is none of your business. Beechwood and Dixie along with the KHSAA will determine if the young man is eligible to play or not.

Often times it is because daddy doesn't think Jr. is getting a fair shake. That being said, I do agree teams like Beechwood and Highlands, etc. have football and academic programs that present themselves in a favorable light and often kids go there (or parents send kids there) on their own without being recruited. They are of course greeted with open arms once they show an interest.

Unless the middle of Kentucky caves in and Fort Mitchell ends up next to Mayfield then it is safe to say it probably will never happen.

Who else is involved today? I saw several Conner players filing into Beechwood this morning.

My parents purposely moved from Burlington to Park Hills when my older brother was an incoming sophmore so he could have a shot at state. It worked as he won state in 1997. They then moved to Fort Thomas so I coulf win state which I did in 1998 and 1999. We don't be grudge our parents one bit. Parents know what is best fro thier children, not the other way around.
