Here's my thinking as to why I say it's 100% football. I don't know the kid or the family so I'll speak generally about a senior at Dixie switching to Beechwood.

 

1. It's not educational. You don't suddenly move to Beechwood your senior year because of education. Too late for the most part. In addition, a senior can get a top-notch education at Dixie IF he/she is interested. One of the smartest kids I know graduated from Dixie in 2011.

2. Could it be he doesn't like new coach? Maybe. If so, still football related.

3. Family got a great deal on a house in Ft Mitchell. Great. Kid can still go to Dixie. Why would you uproot a kid for his senior year UNLESS there were other issues ie football?

4. In his opinion Dixie will struggle this year. Football related.

5. He wants to win a state championship. Football related.

6. He had a really bad personal experience at Dixie that causes him to hate his daily educational experience. Plenty of other schools. Chose one that has strong football. Football related.

7. It's football related.

Explain to me why this young man would change schools his senior year when he has started both ways for the last 2 seasons? He is leaving all of his friends he has been going to school with since his freshman year for a better education and more scholarship opportunities. You are only kidding yourself if you believe this!

 

Every school provides an excellent education. The parents and students get what they want from their child's education not matter what school he attends. That's a fact!

A change in residence does not guarantee eligibility. Hopefully he will not lose his senior year of playing football.

I don't have a problem w/ kids transferring for sports. I don't. For some kids, sports are a huge part of their identity. Let them go where their talents best fit and flourish. As long as the grades are where they should be, so be it.

That's only true up to a point. The fact is, some schools do a better job of educating children. The result for any given student will be a combination of parental involvement, student effort and the school attended. If any one factor is deficient, the student's outcome will suffer.

It is almost like you are wishing this young man ill will in his future for wanting to play football somewhere else in his senior year. I suppose all the state regulated test scores are fluff as well? Or, do you have it in your mind that Highlands and Beechwood approve and validate the test scores for the rest of the state so they can add the "fluff".

All are possibilities...but still, all are still hearsay or conjecture. Also...to respond to a couple of your reasonings:

 

3. What if mom and dad don't want to bother dealing with keeping the kid at Dixie? What if the kid didn't care that much about high school and was fine going to Beechwood (and potentially playing for a state championship)?

5. Sure he wants to win a state championship. What high school athlete doesn't? This might play into making #3 a little more reasonable supposing mom and dad found a great deal on a house in Ft. Mitchell.

Family gets a deal on a house in a great school district, kid gets out of the school where he had a bad experience, kid gets to play his senior year on a very promising football team.

8. He wanted to play with his Spartan buddies? Says who? You seem to know an awful lot about the details of this guy's wants and intentions for someone that doesn't know whether or not he has any younger siblings, jolmstead.

 

This is all speculation. All of it. It all comes down to whether or not the transfer is legitimate and legal - period.
