Colin Justice from Dixie to Beechwood?

Featured Replies

"I went to see a playoff game between Lloyd and Walton last year, and I don't mean this to be derogatory, it is just an honest opinion, I thought was watching a freshman game."

What does this have to do with 1a football?

I went to freshman game last year Highlands vs SK. Looked like Highlands was playing against a sixth grade team. If that's 6a, glad my kids are 1a

Can't win with this poster when it comes to BW. Thinks its all about football. Soon he will bring socio-economics into the discussion.

Can anyone confirm or deny the

Colin Justice rumors? Man, what a stable of skill players the Tigers would have if true.

That would make a transfer most illogical.

Erdman, Nussbaum and Justice were a VERY good backfield for the Spartans. IM sure they would enjoy playing together again.

One more comment since college scholarships were brought up earlier. If my numbers and memory are accurate, 1A Beechwood has 10 players from last year's team going on to play college football. Two of those 10 are playing on D1 scholarships and two others will be walking on at D1 schools.

Justice started out with the Blackhawks in the BCPWFL in the same backfield as Travis Elliott.

Both those programs were at the bottom of their District last year. And how many kids playing for BW have Erlanger and Independence addresses? BTW, those seniors of yours are gone and the sophomores SK started last year are now experienced juniors. So, we shall see.

We shall see what? Regardless, it's 1A vs 6A. The disparity in the number of kids on the rosters between 1A and 6A alone should not atone for a 90-27 combined score differential. Speaks volumes for the programs at Beechwood and that includes academics.

VOR. Who are the two walking on at D1? I am assuming one of them is Joey Nussbaum? I was wondering where he was going to land. Too much talent there not to get a decent gig.

There's no question Justice will be the work-horse at Dixie this year, if he stays. He's been playing varsity ball at Dixie since his sophomore year. It would be a big blow to Dixie this year as they'll definitely be in a rebuilding year, which could also play into their decision to switch, if true. I wonder how his knee is healing since he tore it up late last season?

On any given year, even at 6A, public school programs have maybe 15 - 18 significant contributors on varsity. This means that that there are three to five kids playing both ways every year. BW probably gets that many football motivated transfers per year.

Not everyone is going for a D1A scholarship to play football in college. Maybe the kid likes his chances for a state championship better at Beechwood than he does at Dixie.

...or maybe he is a teenager living under his parents' roof...and his parents are selling their old roof and buying a new one in Beechwood's school district. Who says this is about getting into college at all?

C'mon man, it is about a 4 mile relocation from Erlanger to Fort Mitchell!

Completely inaccurate for good programs. Maybe explains why SK is a perennial middle of the pack team, save the once in a lifetime Miles Simpson/Chad Lawrence era?

Not sure of exact numbers on an annual basis but your comment probably has some validity. With that being said there is a reason (athletics and academics) that Beechwood is sought after. Not that you are throwing this out there but not all D1 football should be taken lightly. I don't think all 6A football is as pathetic as some make it out to be. I think it is the case of some small schools playing much bigger than their class distinction on a regular basis.

Ok, do you know how Travis Elliot ended his season last year? Ryle and Elliot, one year removed from beating Highlands, ended his season sustaining an injury while paying defense against Colerain. Ryle was forced to play Elliot on defense because they simply did not have the depth on defense. I do believe that last year, before the Elliot injury, Ryle was considered the best 6A public school program in the area. Even the best public school 6A programs play kids both ways because they simply don't have the depth on the rosters.

My parents lived a house in Fort Wright before I was born, and then they bought a nicer house on a street they liked more in Fort Mitchell about 3 miles away. Schools had nothing to do with it. Enough with the axe grinding...please.

We moved from Park Hills to Fort Mitchell (about 2 miles, maybe at the most) a year ago so my daughters could get a Beechwood education. Not sure what your point is and what your knowledge is of the motivating factor(s) of the Justice family.
