What Kind Of Pillow Do You Sleep On?

Featured Replies

Well, it's after 2:30am, and after tossing in bed for a while, I figured I'd ask what kind of pillows folks sleep on.

I've been searching for the "right pillow" for 5 or 6 years now to no avail. I've tried less expensive versions of polyester fill, feather, down, and memory foam pillows in the past, but none have really worked out to my satisfaction. I have a friend who raves about his $60 buckwheat hull pillow, and there's a woman that I work with who raves about her $90 "MyPillow" that she bought off of some tv infomercial.

I guess it might be time to shell out a little more money for something better (I don't think I've ever spent more than $20 on a single pillow thus far), but I'd like to get an idea of what some other people like. I generally am a back sleeper, although sometimes I end up sleeping on my side as well.

Whatever the kind is that they sell at Family Dollar. I just bought new pillows 3 years ago and they were $5 each. I was shocked!

Feather for me. I can tell a difference when I spend the night at a good hotel that has a good mattress and good pillows. Spend the cash, you spend nearly 1/3 of your life in bed.

Anything soft that conforms to my melón. I get headaches sleeping on hard pillows. I have had my Home Godos $19.99 pillow for 4 yrs Now and my wife will tell ya that If you try and take my pillow we are going to have a problem.

I have heard others really sing the praises of the "My Pillow" also but the price tag is very high.

That makes me feel extremely lazy or a little like Ron Jeremy, I’m not sure which.

I end up sleeping on whatever pillow my wife doesn’t want.

Blue Heaven foam latex pillow on top of a wedge pillow. I don't think Blue Heaven is a company anymore, but Mrs. S says you can get foam latex pillows at Bed, Bath, and Beyond.

I used to go through Pepcid Complete like poop through a goose, my night time heartburn was so bad. I haven't taken, but maybe, 5 in the last 6 years, the time I've been using the wedge pillow. It took some getting used to, but I can't hardly sleep comfortably without one, now.

I'm with you on that. I will admit to actually considering it at this point...particularly because they have particular guidelines about "sizing" your pillow to your body size and sleep orientation. I'm thinking there is more and more validity to TAC's "Spend the cash, you spend nearly 1/3 of your life in bed" statement.

not sure what kind, BUT the wifey poo is a "pillow between her legs" sleeper. (I've nicknamed it the "pillow of NO", because when it is in there....NO !!, but I digress)

Eventually those leg pillows get so soft in the middle that they can't be called pillows anymore. As long as I don't have one of those, I'm sleeping fat and happy with whatever keeps my head off the mattress.

I just steal the girlfriends pillow in the middle of the night, sleep like a baby, not sure what type it is but makes me sleep lilke a baby.

I have neck issues so a good pillow is a must. I found a good one at Ikea that has done a good job for the past few years. It was about $30. Anyone ever try one of those pillows you see on the infomercials, sobakawa?

I too, suffer from heartburn. I am going to look into this.

A latex one under my head. Anything to put in between my legs and preferably one more to lay on top of. I'm different.

I use three pillows. I need two to rest my head on...the top being a memory foam pillow. The bottom pillow is usually a $5 Wal-mart special. The third pillow is a must. It is a feather/down pillow that I put over my head to keep out any ambient light and sound. Been doing the pillow over the head thing since I was a kid and now can't sleep well without it. When I was younger, hall lights were always on and my brothers across the hall would always keep their tv up too loud. The pillow trick was the only thing I could do to get the darkness and noise level that would allow me to sleep.
