Texas father kills man trying to sexually assault daughter

Featured Replies

SHINER, Texas – A father beat to death with his hands a man who tried molesting his 4-year-old daughter after the little girl was heard screaming on the family's rural Texas ranch, authorities said Monday.

Lavaca County Sheriff Micah Harmon said the father, whose name has not been released, is unlikely to be arrested for Saturday's killing and that no evidence so far has led investigators to doubt his story.

Vigilante justice or way to go dad?

That guy that died has no reason to be on earth as far as I'm concerned. Good job.

Both.

Anytime you inflict your own justice, it is vigilante. But as a parent of a daughter myself, I say way to go!

Outside of the most liberal states, no jury will convict this father. I don't know if that means killing the rapist was moral or ethical, just most juries will give this father the benefit of the doubt due to what was happening to his daughter.

I get it and, if what is reported actually happened, I can't find fault with the dad's actions.

However, I am curious from a pure legal standpoint what law would protect him.

It looks like it will be a grand jury that decides his fate. I can't see a Texas grand jury indicting a man for killing someone who was trying to sexually assault his daughter.

I hear you but the typical punishment, even in Texas, for a sexual predator is not death.

Not saying I blame the dad or that this guy did not deserve what he got, but from a legal standpoint he still murdered a guy.

I got no problem at all with this!!!

If someone harmed my daughter, not even tried to molest her, just harmed her I would do everything in my power to beat them to death, shoot them, club them or stab them.

You touch a man's daughter you got to know this could happen to you.

How in the world could the father have assumed that the man assaulting his daughter was gonna stop at that? In my opinion he stopped an attempted murder.

Not disagreeing with you at all. But as you know there is a difference in common sense justice and legal justice. Unfortunately (maybe) in this case.

How is it any different than someone breaking into your house and you shoot them dead?

What if he had stopped and was running away?

Did the father attack WHILE the guy was molesting or did he attack AFTER?
