June 12, 201214 yr I read it again. It makes it sound like he pulled the guy off during the molestation. That's different than while he was running away. Again, we'd all do the same but I'm just curious as to how I would be protected by the written law. Does that fall under self-defense?
June 12, 201214 yr Did the father attack WHILE the guy was molesting or did he attack AFTER? Would make no difference in my eyes. I feel confident in saying the rage I would have felt if this had been my child wouldn't have ceased until I had beaten the life out of the man.

I feel confident in saying the rage I would have felt if this had been my child wouldn't have ceased until I had beaten the life out of the man. It would seem to matter legally. I can shoot you if you're coming into my house but I don't think I have the right to shoot you if you're running out of my house.
June 12, 201214 yr He wouldn't run far. I get that. I get the macho stuff even though none of us know what we're truly going to do. I'm strictly speaking in the legal sense.

Not even close to being the same. Somebody tries that on my child I'm hunting them down if I have to cross state lines.
June 12, 201214 yr Let's say I wanted to beat a guy to death. Couldn't I just say I found him molesting my daughter? I could easily convince my 4-yr-old to lie. Seems like a rock solid way to murder someone you don't like.

Seems like a rock solid way to murder someone you don't like. Seems like there was some evidence in this case. I take "there was no evidence to suggest he was lying" to mean there was evidence that he had molested the child.
June 12, 201214 yr I'd have shot him in the back. No you wouldn't have. You would have wanted to have physically taken his life with your own bare hands.
June 12, 201214 yr Easy, Clint. You've not yet addressed anything I've said. Well quit trying to compare raisins with watermelons.
June 12, 201214 yr No you wouldn't have. You would have wanted to have physically taken his life with your own bare hands. I carry a pistol. I'd have shot him on the run. If he wasn't dead, I'd have made it very miserable at his end, literally.
