And like 20/20 mentioned a couple of years ago, what is/was the motive?

 

If there is zero evidence connecting Dooley to the case the Commonwealth has to have a mountain of circumstantial evidence and a strong motive, right? And if the Commonwealth has those two things why not tease the jury/media with some of the incriminating information to gain support for a conviction instead of making multiple inflammatory comments about how gruesome the murder was.

 

Again, I have no idea who murdered Michelle Mockbee but on the surface this appears to be a very weak case by the Commonwealth.

If she was beaten that brutally, I wonder how in the world could there NOT be evidence on the defendant or in his truck? This was a very terrible tragedy and hopefully the Commonwealth has some stronger evidence forthcoming.

From what I understand there are LOTS of people in and out of that building and not all of them were accounted for on the morning of the murder.

Boone County Sheriff's Det. Everett Stahl said a tape gun was brought in during the interrogation to see how Dooley would react.

Granted I have not seen/hear him say it, but it seems extremely unprofessional to me, too.

Just what Kentucky needs. Something in the National News that makes the state look stupid.

You guys are not alone, there is zero evidence connecting Dooley to the crime that I am aware of.

 

Think about what the Commonwealth Attorney said in that article:

 

"She said Dooley's inconsistent statements to investigators and odd behavior point to his guilt."

 

Think about what that article said: gashing her skull, nearly tearing off her ear, savage beating, possibly used two different weapons, blunt force trauma, attack so brutal it was like trauma from a car crash, skull was crushed, pool of blood... AND there is no physical evidence connecting Dooley??? I have no idea who killed Michelle Mockbee but if it was David Dooley he must be a professional killer on the level of the Wolf from Pulp Fiction.

 

And it is my understanding there is DNA evidence that does NOT connect Dooley to the crime and the identity of the DNA is unknown.

 

I am just getting familiar with this story but it is downright scary IMO. The DA has no hard evidence but seems to be trying a guy because she has nobody else as a suspect. This guy may be guilty as sin but based on what the DA seems to have as evidence (basically nothing), there is no way the State should get a conviction...we have MORE than reasonable doubt here.

This is a case of the state trying to make the circumstances/evidence fit the suspect instead of the suspect fitting the circumstances/evidence. It's scary that our justice system can do this. It's desperate and scary. That DA and detective should be ashamed.
