June 4, 201313 yr I think Koryta lives in Indiana. I just bought that book today. Yes. Bloomington. The Prophet and the other one set in Wisconsin are more my style of mystery books. "So Cold the River" has more of a Sci Fi/Supernatural tone, which I am not so fond of.

June 6, 201313 yr I tried to get through Dragon Tattoo and just couldn't do it. Well----the only reason I bought it is because of you........ :lol2: My buddy convinced me to start the Larsson trilogy so I'm on the "Dragon Tatoo" book. A friend of mine who shares the same tastes in books said that you need to stick with until at least p.40.
June 6, 201313 yr Anyone read Swamplandia? Heard good things about it. I looked it up on Amazon. Seems to be mixed reviews. Let us know what you think if you choose to read it.
June 6, 201313 yr I'm not reading this (because it isn't out yet), but here's the cover for Deaver's upcoming Lincoln Rhyme novel. Set to be released in June: I think this one came out Tuesday. It'll be a while until I get to it, but I love the Lincoln Rhyme series.
June 7, 201313 yr The old soldier, and friend of my father, who we take to the USF games with us gave me "The Duke of Flatbush".
June 14, 201313 yr The Devil in the White City is a non-fiction book by Erik Larson set in Chicago circa 1893. It combines the stories of Daniel H. Burnham, the architect behind the 1893 World's Fair, and Dr. H. H. Holmes, the serial killer who used the World's Fair to lure guests to his own infamous World's Fair Hotel and their deaths. Awesome book...super detailed about everything, and tons of interesting facts all throughout the book.
June 14, 201313 yr Just finished reading "Arc of Justice: Saga of Race, Civil Rights and Murder in the Jazz Age"
June 14, 201313 yr What did you think? I have read 3. Forget the names right now. Loved The Prohet. Finished The Ridge a week or so ago & it was pretty solid. Not as good as The Prophet, but still solid. Just started the first book in the Kathryn Dance series by Jeffery Deaver. It's called The Sleeping Doll & I'm about halfway through. Pretty good so far.
June 14, 201313 yr I have one chapter left in Killing Floor which is the first Jack Reacher story. It's OK. My least enjoyable of all of the Reacher novels I've read.
