The length of the contract alone leads me to say yes. Not for this season, but clearly for down the road.

All three of you are correct though they are contradicting remarks. The answer is to sign players to shorter contracts. Which they players are not going to agree to unless they are paid twice as much. He will not struggle like he did the first quarter of the season, but to me he looks like a mid-30s player trying to find his mid-season groove.

Not necessarily that, but when you're signing a free agent in his 30s, you can't expect him to simply replicate the numbers he put up in his 20s. Teams stick themselves with lousy long-term deals because of that.

Albert has 4 HR's in his last 7 Games and is hitting near .400...Good sign for the Angels...

We're 1/4 of the way through the season and the $25M man is hitting a robust .211 with 3 HR and 18 RBI. His OBP is a paltry .256 and his OPS is a low .569.

I don't see it happening either, I do think he will get better but it won't be as great of numbers as usual. I think next year he will be back to normal though.

While I agree on your quicker and better I just don't see it lasting more than a year or two.

At his current pace he is on pace for his 4th straight declining season in terms of H, BA, HR, RBI, OPS. That's the most alarming part for me if I am an Angels fan.
