May 3, 201214 yr While the President hasn't been liberal enough to suit me, his views are a lot closer to mine that his opponents'. It's really very simple. Under whose administration do I believe that me and mine will do better? Bear in mind that my wife is a teacher and I'm a retired employee drawing something like $38K a year from KERS. State and federal I generally (but not exclusively) vote Democrat. Local elections not so much. This is generally the case why I have always voted for a Democrat for President, but I cannot say for certainty that either candidate will allow me and mine to do better...thus the reason for my previous post...errr...rant!! This may be selfish to some, but for me the question is "Who is going to look out for number one?" I cannot say either one will thus the voter apathy I am showing.
May 3, 201214 yr I can't say why I would vote for Obama, because I wouldn't. I cannot see one good thing about him. He is egotistical, narcissitic and condescending. He appears to be trying to divide the country rather than uniting the country. How does he appear that way and how is he using racism to divide the country?

May 3, 201214 yr Well, I likely will be voting for Obama, unless Romney can convince me he's got something better to offer than just being the "Anti-Obama". Like the random, few others on here, I actually LIKE where the country is compared to 4 years ago. In my little world, things look much brighter than they did 4 years ago. But, my votes are heaviest on social issues (including social aid, education and healtchare), followed by economic issues, and lastly foreign policy issues (including defense issues). I genuinely feel he's put us in a better position today than we were four years ago. I don't regret my vote from four years ago at all. I see no reason to change it, especially given the alternative (at this point).
May 3, 201214 yr I won't know who I am voting for till the fall. I will need to take a closer look at both candidates, the state of the nation and the key focuses each candidate has for when he is elected. I will say, Obama has not done anything that makes me say no way I would vote for him. I do think he has kept his primary promises made when he ran the first time. I do think the country is in better shape now than it was when he took office. I do think his national defense focus and direction is better than the previous regime. The people who are definitely against Obama would be against any Democrat no matter who they are. I am open minded and very middle of the road voting for both R's and D's in every election so my vote is up for grabs.

May 3, 201214 yr Because All Tell is voting for Romney . I like what Obama did in the Automobile Bailout and The ACA has helped my son immensly . I think that those who are against the ACA are being shortsighted , meanspirited and selfish ,and most of his foreign policy decisions have been correct .
May 3, 201214 yr I'm just curious as to what people see in him that I don't. Simple question, Everyone I hear is not for him so I just wonder who is and why. Not a dumb question. My little popcorn guy was not intended to be an insult to your question, but rather that I was just going to sit back, eat some 'corn (or "carn" as Mammaw Howard used to say) and enjoy the responses. I actually like the question you asked & think you should do another thread about why people would vote for Romney. Personally, I'm not planning on voting for either, which makes my vantage point (w/ popcorn in hand) quite interesting & entertaining. I took a second look at Romney, because a couple posters on here PM'd me & asked me to reconsider my disliking of the former Massachusetts governor. And I did. But it boils down to this: I just don't trust Mitt. Of course, neither am I voting for the President. While he's been a pleasant surprise on some foreign policy matters, he's essentially been a third-term for the GWB economic plan. So much to the chagrin of my friends on the right (RTS, Shamrock, etc) & my raging liberal friends on the left :lol: (PP92, mcpapa, etc), I'll be the guy who sits back and takes it all in, and of course firing frequent shots at both candidates. Just me and my :popcorn:
May 3, 201214 yr One of my biggest problems with President Obama is that he takes credit for everything that goes right and blames someone else for everything that goes wrong. I don't know how many times I have heard him say that "I killed Osama Bin Laden", . Any examples of this?

Affordable Care Act Saved GM Killed OBL Ended Iraq occupation Ending Afghanistan occupation Social Issues (ended DODT and not defending DOMA) Court appointments (1st term & possible replacements) Environmental issues (Blocked the useless pipeline) Tax Policy (Buffet Bill needs to be passed) He's not perfect but he's a heck of a lot better than the other guy.

Why would anyone vote for Romney I will never know... the guy walks around flip-flopping - one day he's for the next day he's against ... the conservatives are really going to hate this guy if he's ever elected I guarantee he will flip-flop on a few issues this summer. He can't relate to the poor or the middle class. He has multiple tax shelters overseas? (And he wants to run the USA?) His wife walks around bragging about her $1,000 shirt. What?? He already said he doesn't care about the poor? He's more worried about the 1%.

But I feel B.O. is: running our economy in the ground with debt. I dont like the Health Care Reform, immigration laws are a joke, support of the Muslim Brotherhood, Nancy Pelosi, speaks on local issues I dont think he should, Rev. Wright whom guided his thinking NASA budget cuts picked North Carolina for 2 yrs straight to win it all
