Please tell why you will vote for him to be re elected. I'm curious to know who is for him and why.

 

I consider myself an Independent voter, but mostly I vote Democrat and I cannot come up with enough reasons to vote period. I know that Federal Government employees have taken a lot of heat in the media about their salaries, but I know two employees who don't make $75,000+ per year. That would be me and my wife and it's not even close. So, for us to go going on three years without a cost of living increase quite honestly sucks. I would like to see the end of 535 congressmen and women acting like babies and getting something done in that swamp disguised as a city and elect a whole new lot of them. That won't happen, but short of that I probably won't cast any votes in November. I know, I know, I can't complain if I don't vote, but complaining really doesn't get you anywhere anyway. The squeaky wheel does not get the grease in Washington. The only thing that gets greased there are palms with dirty money.

SN - My friend who just passed away who did not go to the doctor because he was working poor and may have been able to catch the cancer that ate away his liver. I do not want to live in a world where the lack of insurance and therefore lack of preventative care allow my friends to suffer a die. President Obama is my best HOPE of changing that system.

President Obama said he should be a one-term President if the economy isn't fixed, so I might as well listen to him and vote Romney.

One of my biggest problems with President Obama is that he takes credit for everything that goes right and blames someone else for everything that goes wrong. I don't know how many times I have heard him say that "I killed Osama Bin Laden", when I do believe it was the Navy Seals. Every bad that happens was Bush's fault. The only thing positive President Obama has done is use the drones to kill the enemy. And he does get credit for giving the order to get Bin Laden, but he did not kill him. The President is using class warfare and racism to divide the country. I respect him as President, but not his actions.

While the President hasn't been liberal enough to suit me, his views are a lot closer to mine that his opponents'.

 

It's really very simple. Under whose administration do I believe that me and mine will do better? Bear in mind that my wife is a teacher and I'm a retired employee drawing something like $38K a year from KERS.

 

State and federal I generally (but not exclusively) vote Democrat. Local elections not so much.

You could try but all of the answers will consist of everything Obama does wrong as to why they are voting for Romney. Different thread title. Same results.

It is tempting to go with the simple Bin Ladens dead and GM is alive, but there are lots of other reasons. Start with TARP and the stimulus. Construction is the pointy end of the spear when it comes to our economy. It feels the bad news first and recovers last. I know how bad it was when the President took office. It still isn't back, but it is so much better than it was that by comparison it is boom times. Tarp and the stimulus saved the economy. Follow that with the Affordable Care Act. I have spent my entire career in small businesses that offer employees health insurance. Many times I have been the one negotiating the policy. The ACA is GREAT for our business. It will allow us to offer substantially the same coverage we have always offered (maybe better), while taking advantage of the rates offered to large risk pools. There are changes I would like to see, but the ACA is a great step in the right direction. The auto bailout was another great step. It saved the domestic car industry. It would not have happened without the quick and decisive actions taken by Presidents Bush and Obama. President Reagan's famous question was "Are you better off than you were four years ago?" My answer for myself and the nation is a resounding yes. Gov. Romney doesn't want that to be the question. He wants the question to be "Are you satisfied with where you are?" Gov. Romney reminds me of the great olympic athlete that was in a car accident. He comes to the hospital near death. His injuries are very severe. Thanks to the hard work and skill of his doctors, as well as his own great physical condition, he survives and will someday be as good as ever. When the doctor meets with the patient to give him the news that he will recover and should be ready for the 2016 Olympics, the patient says "What, I can't be in the 2012 Olympics? What kind of quack are you? I need to find a new doctor."
