Kentucky 102 Indiana 90

I, as well as many others felt that they would win some where in the 12-15 point range. Well we were right. LRCW I don't usually call people out but you said a lot of people were acting like it would be a blow out and many said no, BUT they would still win by that amount. It certainly wasn't a blowout and they did win by that amount.

Like you said it wasn't a blow out, but it's not the the first time I've been wrong. Don't mind being wrong when I think the Cats might lose.

Well, my "stupid" prediction was off by 3. I can live with that and will sleep well :D

I can live being wrong too, unfortunately I didn't get much sleep.

Great game for the Cats. You could see they wanted this one really bad. Also good to see them not crumble with Davis on the bench.

Gained a heckuva lot of respect for the Hoosiers in this one...Much better squad than I gave them credit for. They're going to be a real title contender next season if Zeller stays in school.

Can't help but root for a guy like Crean, even if he is coaching one of UK's rivals. Seems like a fantastic guy, let alone coach.

Loved his line after the game. Something along the lines of, "They're really good. They've got a NBA 1st round draft pick coming off the bench."

Baylor doesn't scare me. They're incredibly undisciplined. As was mentioned during the game with Xavier, they're one of those teams that their offense dictates their defense. If they aren't scoring, they aren't defending. Those are the types of teams UK can, and normally does, go on long runs against. I see about a 8-12 point win that's never really in doubt.

Great to have IU back as a strong team. Awesome rivalry is back.

I agree "Clyde".

It is great having Indiana back on the basketball map. I really liked this Indiana team and Tom Crean is obviously an elite level coach.

Only problem with the rivalry is that Coach Cal is going to kill it. He has said he does not like playing against buddies and Tom Crean is one of Cal's best buddies in the business.

I have enjoyed these games between UK and IU for many years. In fact, what still is the best basketball game I have attended was the classic UK/IU game on March 22, 1975 in Dayton, Ohio.

While I don't think it will be 20, I don't think it will come to the wire either. Cats by a dozen.

I'm not right often so I must make it known when I am.

I enjoyed watching Remy Abell in this one. Another KY product from last years class who just didn't seem like a freshman out there after he got his legs under him. Big moment.

Baylor doesn't scare me. .

Marsupials do.

Big win for the Cats. Will give Indiana credit they are a real good team. I think Greg Anthony said after the game Indiana played their best and still lost by 12. Baylor is a very talented team but having seen them play a few times this year they have spells where they lose it for a while. Think Cats will win by 10 to 12 points. GO BIG BLUE.

I've been fortunate enough to attend Kentucky/Indiana games during the season. Two in Freedom Hall and two at Indy. The atmosphere with the crowd being half and half was amazing. I bet last night was incredible as well. Great Game !!

From what I've seen/read, it seems the crowd was about 65-70% UK fans. Should be closer to 95% tomorrow.

Just went back and looked at the play by play and UK shot 14 Free Throws down thed stretch from about the 2:30 mark so subtract that from the 37 to get 23 FT's up to that point. As a comparison, IU took 2 free throws during that stretch as well.

IU was 13-17 from the FT Line.

UK was 35-37.

With the adjusted numbers to the fouling down the stretch...

IU was 11-15

Kentucky was 21-23.

So 8 free throws was the difference in the ball game. I only post this as I've been going through the countless forums on the internet and there are plenty of people complaining about the free throws. Definitely puts perspective on the freebies each team had for the game before all the fouling started.

Man that's great analysis. On top of that had Indiana hit front end me bonus they would have had more shots which would have made that number 8 shrink.

Marsupials do.

'Cause they're fast.

And they dart. That's crazy!

(VERY well played. Your post got a big LOL out of me!)

Anyone see Lambs interview after the game? Said it was a revenge game and that Indiana hit a lucky shot last time. Haha

I'm still amazed that UK scored 35 points from the free throw line and to go 35/37 is incredible. In the end, I believe that Davis ended up being the main factor.

On another note, I believe that the Hoosiers are definitely back and they will only get better.
