Hawaii (1-1) made a late run but could never get things tied and end the end South Dakota (2-0) was able to hold on for the win. Hitting 24-29 free throws aided in a large way. Leading the way for the visiting winners was Triston Simpson (Lincoln, NE) with 18 points, 2 boards and 3 assist. Stanley Umude (San Antonio, TX) added 21 points, 7 boards and 4 assist. Hunter Goodrick (Sydney, NSW) came off the bench to add 10 points, 7 boards and 1 assist. For Hawaii Eddie Stansberry (San Francisco, CA) led the way with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 1 assist.
