Newport Central Catholic 97 Dayton 42

Recommended Posts

In a district seeding game, the Breds drain 11 triples and 12 of the 13 players that dressed dent the scoring column. The Greendevils to their credit played hard all game long, but turnovers and the Breds hot shooting was too much to overcome.

NewCath's Sr. center Brendan Luken is still out with an ankle sprain, but could be back on Thursday when the Breds travel to Burlington Pike to take on the Boone County Rebels.

Paul Kremer was on fire from distance hitting his first 3.

Jerod Iles with a solid game in his first game back wearing a facemask for his broken nose.

Braden Posey continues to impressive with his ball handling and passing skills.

Caleb Jefferson with some solid defense as usual.

Brennan Hall was Brennan Hall.

Dayton's Chris Perkins with some nice shooting early on, and Preston Baggot has some nice size for an 8th grader.....will be interesting to see this young mans progression in the coming years.

Big win for New Cath? Did the JV coach coach after being tossed out of game against Cov Cath did the school suspend him for a game? Big bounce back game for Breds. That’s a lot of points.

Not a so called "Big Win", but a necessary win because of how district seedings work. Often these games get lopsided but that's the nature of the beast.
