Figs
Rough way for the Cougars dream season to end. It was all Hoptown from the second play of the game. They couldn't miss. 29-0 at the end of one, running clock with 9 1/2 to go before the half. Hoptown was practically flawless. Solid offensive game plan. They basically had Bland throwing quick routes or deep balls to spots. Never allowed Logan's defensive line to apply pressure. Logan's secondary had a hard time the entire game. And Hoptown's defense played exceptional. Their quickness didn't let Hardy get going and the secondary covered the Cougar receivers like white on rice. Ezell actually had pretty good protection but just couldn't find anyone open. Logan County didn't help themselves at all. Early penalties and some costly turnovers set the tone of the game real early. They just looked flat. This team has gotten off to some slow starts this year but at least they looked crisp at times before the train got rolling. Not tonight. You know you're in trouble when there is only 1 play - ONE PLAY - on the opposing team's side of the field in the 1st quarter. And the bad thing was, Hoptown scored a touchdown on that play. The Cougars just ran into a buzzsaw tonight. But my hats off to them. They didn't quit and got on the board with 1:27 left in the game to avoid the shutout. Congrats to Hoptown moving on to play F-S next week. They are playing with a purpose right now and aren't a team to mess with. Gonna be a heckuva game in Franklin. May have to make the short journey down there for this one. Keep your heads up, Cougars! 11-1 is nothing to be ashamed of!! Coach Adler and this group will be back! DevilMayCare
The clock struck midnight. It was a lot of fun, while it lasted.
The Scribe
Hopkinsville is a team on a mission. Since the death of EJ Austin after the last Logan County game, the Tigers are 5-0 and have outscored their opponents 198-21. Craig Clayton appears to have the right people in the right places. rookie57
Logan Co is definitely a great story, and awesome year, and I really thought they might squeeze out a win against Hopkinsville, but I also felt that the hype didn't match the reality. Hopkinsville may be on a mission, but they are not a real good team.
Purple88
Congratulations to @CoachAdler and the Logan County Cougars! A season to remember for a VERY Long time! Congratuations to Hoptown! SUCH difficulty throughout the year and to come together in the face of adversity and overcome such hardship is very admirable. Good luck next week as you face a very good team at their field. SomewhereOffTheMap
Hopkinsville has a great coach and he always gets the best out of his teams in the playoffs. A much different team than earlier in the season. They now know their offense and defense and can execute it.
