1.Perry County Central (17-7):

The Commodores fell twice last week to both Lexington Catholic 72-66 in double OT and to George Washington WV 59-56 but bounced back in a big big way, crushing crosstown rival, Hazard 73-46 to remain unbeaten in both region and district play. The Commodores only have 5 remaining games this regular season and 3 of them will be tough ones this week when they travel to Leslie County on Tuesday night but return home to host both Knott Central and Letcher Central Friday and Saturday.

2.Knott County Central (15-7):

Knott Central picked up two big wins last week, defeating district foes Letcher Central 53-46 and crushing June Buchanan 92-35. Knott Central has just 6 games left but two of them are huge and are this week. Tuesday night the Patriots travel down the Mountain Parkway to take on former head coach David Fraley and his Powell County Pirates and then on Friday they travel down the Mountain Parkway again, this time to Hazard to face off in a big showdown with #1 Perry Central.

3.Cordia (10-6):

The Lions would win the 14^th Region All “A” Classic to head into the All “A” State Tournament looking to repeat as All “A” Classic State Champions but that wouldn’t be the case as the Lions would fall to the team they defeated in last year’s semi-finals, Newport Central Catholic 65-57.

4.Letcher County Central (14-7):

Letcher Central has won 3 out of their last 4 games but that one loss was to district foe, Knott Central 53-46. The Cougars are still getting great production out of Senior Forward Torrell Carter who’s averaging 25 points a game.

5.Powell County (16-6):

Powell County had their 5 game wins streak snapped on Saturday when they fell to Letcher County Central 78-70. Powell County has two huge games this week, on Tuesday they host the #2 team in the region Knott County Central and on Friday they travel to district foe Estill County in a big district showdown.

6.Leslie County (15-5):

Leslie County split the two games last week, defeating Red Bird 72-50 but falling hard @ Bell County 56-38. The Eagles are still playing good ball, in fact, they have had only 2 losses in January but will that change this Tuesday night when they host the #1 ranked team in the region and district foe, Perry County Central? One of these two teams will be dealt their first district loss, which one will it be?

7.Estill County (14-6):

The Engineers picked up two big wins last week. Estill County went on the road into one of the toughest places to play, Wolfe County and defeated the Wolves 77-75. Estill County returned home on Friday night to host Lee County in a game that wouldn’t be much of a contest as the Engineers rolled past the Bobcats 77-38. The Engineers have 9 games left with 2 of them being huge games this week, hosting #8 Buckhorn on Tuesday and #5 Powell County.

8.Buckhorn (13-11):

The Wildcats have hit a hard spot, after winning 9 straight and running their record to 11-7, the Wildcats have now lost 3 straight and have lost 4 of their last 6 games, not good, especially with Estill County on Tuesday and both Leslie County and Hazard on Friday and Saturday.

9.Hazard (9-10):

Hazard still continues to struggle, having lost 2 straight and losing 6 of their last 8 games, that’s not good and it’s really bad when your 0-3 in district play. Can Hazard find a way to get back on track in the coming weeks?

10.Breathitt County (14-9):

After hitting that sluggish spot, the Bobcats seem to have gotten things turned in the right direction. The Bobcats have now won 7 of their last 9 games. 5 of those 7 wins have been by double digits.

11.Wolfe County (10-12):

Since defeating district foe, Breathitt County 61-57 in the semi’s of the 14^th region all “a” classic, the Wolves have 2 straight and have lost 5 of their last 6 games. Can the Wolves get back on track this week with Jackson City and Owsley County waiting?

12.Owsley County (4-18):

The young Owls are playing a little bit better, have won 2 of their last 3 games including a big district win over Lee County 61-58.

13.Lee County (5-15):

Lee County woes continue as the Bobcats have now lost 5 straight games.

14.Jackson City (7-16):

The Tigers have taken a beating this season and this year, in fact, Jackson City has lost 8 of their last 10 games.

15.June Buchanan (2-17):

JBS picked up their 2^nd win on the season last week, defeating Piarist School 68-13.

16.Jenkins (1-17):

Will Jenkins ever get that 2^nd win?

17.Riverside Christian (3-18):

After defeating KSFTD back on January 17^th, the Rams have now lost 4 straight games but still have more wins this season than they did past 2 seasons combined.
