It seems to me Lafayette is not that good in the trenches this year, especially on Offense. Is this true? This is just some info I have heard from parents on more than one occasion. Did this prevent Lafayette from getting in gear? Also I'm sure NB was a quality opponent and this had something to do with it.

Agreed!! Henry Clay and St. Xavier seem to be really close this year. I think HC may be hurt with the injuries and knicks and bumps that all teams suffer.

Switch Dunbar with TC, it looks like Dunbar is notch above the Creek although Campbell is a better opponent than Station.

I knew PLD was vastly improved, however this final score does surprise me. PLD may challenge in the district this year. Although HC is a totally different animal right now.

Bell Co.'s OL dominated. Lincoln's OL and DL was very small and then when one of their biggest guys went down, the C #72 it got even worse. Spencer Greer looked really good tonight. The best back on Bell Co's team may be #5 although he is only a FR. he was quite impressive. Merrick was the real deal as was already stated. #4 for Lincoln Co., should get more touches he was big and strong and ran low to the ground, Lincoln's other back #29? was a little hesitant to hit the hole tonight. Whitley's got a very tough game next week.

I told everyone it could be a very long year for TC. They just don't have the depth nor the athletes to win many with their schedule this year. I thought they might finish 7-3 but 4-6 is much more likely.

Just Left and early in the 4th it was Garrard Co. 28-27 over Washington Co.

I don't really know much about Lexington Catholic's DL this year so my picks come with a disclaimer. 1. Oldham/ Jackson Lafayette 2. Burton/ Wilhite Station 3. Bryant/Riley TC (Knowles from TC has moved to LB if he was still on the line this would be my #1 pick as Knowles is the only returning 1st team all city DL) Henry Clay lost the Cotton's and Bentley and I think Boyd has moved to the secondary. I'm interested to see if Nigel Wells gets some time on defense this year. For PLD Klein is a very good player, but there are question marks after him. Maybe Gast at NG or Salyer from the edge could make a difference. Christian has a good DL with Harmon/Hill and Duff, but in all honesty Christian isn't ready to compete with the rest of the city. They just don't have the depth that the other schools have, but as Lex. Christian continues to grow, they will ascend more than likely.

Because I don't root for Campbell Co. I'm not a fan of their teams. Additionally if you had been out and watched TC then you would know Campbell Co. will not beat them by 35 points.

That's simply outrageous. No way this ridiculous score happens.

Tates Creek will probably have a long year this year. Their defense has looked sharp so far, but their offensive transition has been lacking in their scrimmages. If TC is going to be successful this year they will need to rely on Ty Sparks once again. Tates Creek just doesn't have the skill players to spread the field this year. Watch out for Rozell James and his transformation from QB to RB/WR however, if he successfully adapts TC may have found the weapon they desperately need right now.

I'm speaking in terms of what their defensive front looked like and against the lines they had in the late 90's, and against the other 6-A teams I've seen this year TC and Henry Clay.

Madison Central is kind of small up front for a 6-A team and that bodes well for Danville. However Central has the expereinced skill players and to me this is the difference maker. Madison Central prevails 24-21.
