  1. Zero. He has his own style. That's what makes it so special... Other concerns has to be the DL. No returning starters.
  2. Always looking ahead.....not a good sign.
  3. No doubt Trinity got the best draw. Trinity should be able to save their better pitchers for game three, providing they get there. I look for a Ballard vs Trinity game three with Trinity winning.
  4. St. X has to be the clear favorite. Strong pitching from McCormick, McDonald, Amlung and hitting from Erie & Zoeller definitely puts them in the front of the pack.
  5. 3. Establish a strong feeder system. I have not heard one word about what type of Jr High/Optimist/PeeWee leagues in Lexington. I'm sure there are, and if so, the High School coaches need to go watch a few games.
  6. I think Buddy is arguing a losing battle. Though in my opinion, T is not head over heels better, but maybe their preparation has been a little better than X or M. It doesn't hurt to have Beatty on your side. That may be the issue with Lexington schools. What type of quality coaches does Lexington produce? Any Lexington coach win 1 or 2 or 4 state championships?
  7. Lexington has competed in the past, just not at the level of some Louisville teams. Last years Henry Clay team was very talented. They had two guys who could run the ball and when they did, the Trinity fans were on pins & needles. Henry Clay has a nice complex and appeared to have a good fan support. I think the size of Lexington has too many High Schools, so the talent has spread out.
  8. For the sake of the thread, I would pitch my number 2 or 3. These two teams are good enough to pitch their 3 or 4 in the first game of the regional before they match up again in the regional final. Since both teams have already seen each others #1, again I would pitch # 2 or 3.
  9. Why offer group discounts when really only parents/g-parents attend. I'm sure if someone had 50 or so in a group they would consider, but this game, last I recall, is not all that well attended. Enjoy the game Xgrad, I'm sure your son will be well in front of the QB.
  10. ^ Your number one says alot about the recruiting at U of L. That hurts....
  11. From all the ink Newman is getting, I feel sorry for the teams he will be going up against this year. Who was the last person in Jefferson County who has visited Notre Dame as much as Newman? I wish him luck.
  12. Heard he was doing much better. Apparently he was having a hard time breathing last night.
  13. Rocks could not get a handle on the hard throwing, hanging curve ball pitcher, Aaron Deathridge. Ballard came out swinging and hit starting Rock pitcher Tyler Stephan off the mound. Results from reliever, Chris Abbott wasn't much different. Early on, Coach Tompkins had to leave the game, so our thoughts and prayers are with him. Was Trinity saving their hard throwing pitcher Shackleford until next week, did Ballard show their deck of cards too early (like they always do)? We will see........
  14. It is truly ashame that such a good team (Tates Creek) was eliminated in the first round of the district. Other parts of the state have the same problem, and there is not a good answer besides "Wait til next year". Tates Creek, keep up the hard work.......
  15. This should be a very interesting game. Ballard ranked higher than Trinity in most polls, but Trinity could beat anyone on any given night. Will both teams bring it all or hold back for a possible rematch?
  16. Beechwood in a repeat of last year...
  17. Would like to see the U of K competition. Have not heard about one from U of L yet. The one QB who stood out last year at U of L was the Shelby County player.
  18. Last year was my first experience to witness 7 on 7 games. I hope to enjoy and be more prepared to watch more exciting games.
  19. Word has it that Aaron Hargett got the win who is a hard throwing left hander. This guy will be a stud next year.
  20. Before you accuse someone of not executing, do you know how many games PRP has played this year? There is a limit HS teams can play.
  21. That's right, those two players are very explosive. Besides their district, they do have a tough schedule. This team may surprise a few people. Good luck Bruins.
  22. You're exactly right, the older I get, the more humble I get. Yes, I heard about the JV tourney. Heard some people are whining about the draw. Life is not fair and that is one thing teenagers need to learn in High School. Good luck in the freshman tourney.
  23. Calm down buddy, your X bud Riverside provided all of this information, so you should have told him to start a new thread, not me. Regardless, X definitely has a strong foundation because of being around so much longer than anyone else. You would have thought this multi million dollar complex would have come a long time ago. At any rate, as I said before, pictures indicate the X Complex will be second to none in the State of Kentucky.
  24. So it stands to reason why X might have a few more championships than most other schools in the county/state? Who did they play in 1909, 1911 & 1917?
  25. Sounds like this could be a ego issue. You cannot compare Majors with High School. Far too busy playing JV...please...JV ball ends about the same time freshman does and apparently there is not a JV tourney and there is no room on the Varsity roster for district play. So why not let him play a few more games with his CLASSMATES. Baseball is a team game, and you will not see the letter "i" in baseball. Maybe the coaches has seen success on the field, but needs to see it elsewhere. Believe me, I've been in your shoes. When kids play up, they naturally get a BIG head, like some fathers. I'm glad my kid played with his own age group, even though he was good enough to play with guys 2 years older.
