  1. Good point, Billy Hicks won in 1998 with a team that wasn't even ranked in the top 10 all year, that same team the year before lost in the second round of the Regions. My top coaches in the state are ( in no particular order) Billy Hicks, Mike Listerman (a class act), Steve Wright, Tim Riley, also I know they dont qualify but Danny Haney and Kelly Wells.
  2. Owens and family are a class act, but going to have to go with Montgomery by 10.
  3. You might want to rethink the "Mason County has played the toughest schedule in the state by far this season" .....you may forget there is a little team in Georgetown who played in the biggest two high school tournments in the nation the past 10 days!
  4. What does "out of what he has" mean? Does that mean Oldham's Student Athletes are sub par?
  5. Was Ballard fully staffed? If so, good win for Adair!
  6. You gotta beat the best to be the best, SC has never backed down from tough opponents, do they even get invites to the 5/3rd any more? I know in 99 and 00 they never lost a game and then were not asked back in 01....not sure if this is still the case.
  7. Strong showing by Montgomery but the stakes get up'ed a little tonight vs. Campbell, I am sure the Indians will respond, I'm calling a 20 point V!
  8. Not sure if the stat keeper was awake, but both teams listed as having only one assist......Greenup did make a strong run and took the lead after being down 20 plus. Does Greenup always rotate 5 for 5 the entire game....quite interesting, I think I even heard the coach call them 1st team, 2nd team and 3rd team....Reminded me of Junior Pro Basketball subsitutions.
  9. This must of been during the time period he also did not touch the ball on the defensive end....or touch the guy he was defending!
  10. Not to ruin a Mason County thread but who holds the current Sweet 16 attendance record, i though it was a Farmer/Clay Co. Game? I was also under the impression that the SC/Madison Central '99 Game was second all time. Guess I could get my lazy tail up and look it up in the millions of Sweet 16 programs I have...... On another note congratz MCPAPA on this crowning achievement, I am barely over 100 posts, I guess I need to get some more opinions.....not sure if my lifetime mark will ever reach 5,000!
  11. Is that a live feed or a stat update? My computer usually does not do good with most live feeds. Checked out Scott's Opponent, looks like a not too difficult first round match up! Then again usually no shabby teams get invited to the Beachball.....wonder when Scott County let the BeachBall know Mackey wasn't coming.....I'm sure that didn't go over well!
  12. Im not impressed with Euton, but that is after watching Hopson (who by the way IMO is better than Euton even at his typical 30 percent!)
  13. You make a very vaild argument Plato, solid research, something a true history major like myself enjoys
  14. Big win over a Top KY Team! The Fayette County (Georgia) team has some Kentucky connections I believe, I think their head coach played at Woodford and Transy...could be wrong, can someone help me with a name?
  15. I was at this game, I was impressed as always with Adair County, I was also suprised at the outcome of the game. UHA has a talented "4", Scotty may be the lazyest high profile player I have ever seen in person. Dont get me wrong he is a D1 talent but his effort is lack luster, I dont think he even bent his knees on defense once tonight! Congratz to UHA on this win, wouldn't be suprized to see them in Rupp!
  16. I do! Congratz Coach Hicks and Bath County, I hope there are many more of these to come!
  17. Hands down the KOB is the best Holiday Tournament, the Toyota Classic in Scott County is also a solid prep for District Tournaments!
  18. As you can see Indians won by 29, dominated Central's Press and Zone all night. Good night for the Montgomery Guards!! I believe Rash had 19 and Stull had 9pts, 9 rebs, and 10 assists....O so close to a triple double. Looks as if the Indians are begining to earn their road wings!
  19. I cant concentrate on your updates with your new avatar!
  20. I corrected sunrise to sunset! Do you know if the Royals planned a trip to Pearl Harbor or to BlackDiamond?
  21. It's already around sunrise (make that sunset) in Hawaii!! Good morning Royals!!
  22. Crazy that the winner's bracket plays at 9AM...nothing like being in Paintsville's Gym at 9 in the morning, I am thinking that the Indians are staying in Paintsville.......while the Royals are sitting back in sunny Hawaii
  23. They are playing a Bud Mackey schedule....without Bud Mackey!
