Scott Co/Socastee (SC) Beach Ball Classic

Featured Replies

Anyone that might be interested, just wanted to pass along that the Scott Co/Socastee first round game at the Beach Ball Classic will be shown live online tomorrow at around 3:30pm.

They show every winners bracket games live and they are archived during the tournament if you are too busy following the other 29 thousand holiday tournaments that are currently going on.

I don't know anything about Socastee, but the website does have a write up on them.

Thanks for the link!

They do an outstanding job with that tournament and showing every game online is just awesome. I don't know the costs involved, but I would love to see the 5/3rd or King of the Bluegrass do the same thing.

Is that a live feed or a stat update? My computer usually does not do good with most live feeds. Checked out Scott's Opponent, looks like a not too difficult first round match up! Then again usually no shabby teams get invited to the Beachball.....wonder when Scott County let the BeachBall know Mackey wasn't coming.....I'm sure that didn't go over well!

You will see two links next to each game, one is a stat update and the other is the live feed. So you have a choice in case you might have a uncooperative computer.

I believe Socastee is a local team. The locals aren't usually as good as the invited guests.

Socastee won't be very good, they are always in the Beach Ball based on being a local team. They used to play in the Carolina bracket,( which for the teams that weren't on the top flight division was a good tournament). I guess now all the teams are in the same bracket.

Socastee is the host school. This tournament was actually started at the high school but as it grew it was moved to a larger venue. They do have some great players come through. I lived in Myrtle Beach for 5 years and had the chance to see......Jason Kidd, Kobe Bryant, Mike Bibby, Rasheed Wallace, Kevin Garnett and Vince Carter. The coach at the time who founded the tourney was Dan D'Antoni now assisting his brother Mike with the Phoenix Suns.
