Cards are going to suprise a lot of teams this year. This team is more than one or two blue collar players, when you have this much talent that will play TEAM basketball they will be a tough out for any team they face! GO CARDS! :dancingpa:dancingpa:dancingpa:dancingpa:dancingpa:dancingpa

It seems this team came out of the gates like gang busters and now have to find a rhythm to beat the good teams they will face as they go towards March. The good part of this is when one or two of them have bad games the rest can cover for them and still pull out the win!

Clark County defeats a scrappy Male team in a game that was closer than many thought. Meeting Randall Cobb was a bonus to a Great Day of HOOPS in the Bluegrass!

Very well executed game plan by the Montgomery County coach. His players wanted to win combined with a rare off night shooting for GRC and it almost was an upset. The Cardinals have no chemistry problem. Being able to play perfect every night will never happen. GRC has the talent to overcome off nights and will be a tough night for anyone they play.:ylsuper:

Not by Holmes, the point being Holmes and GRC have not played in the regular season but yet with one loss and a loss to GRC in a scrimmage should that not weigh into the speculation of this poll. Just like last season when Scott County was the darling of all the polls and didn't even make the sweet sixteen. Polls are an imperfect guess and it seems some teams get more respect even when they haven't earned it in thier entire body of work so far!:idunno:

I don't know how Scott and Holmes can stay above GRC when Scott lost a game and Holmes was beaten, as well as beaten in a scrimmage by GRC. I know scrimmages don't count but they should carry a little weight when speculating rankings! :idunno: In the end it will all be decided in March in the house that Rupp built!

The Hawkins kid is a serious jumper! He will be tough in years to come. He out jumped Zollo at the tip off.

Purvis is a load for anyone to guard. This team has 6'6" players who can guard point guards effectively! Lots of big men who can play defense. :popcorn: As far as the point guard, all of them are also good ball handlers and excellent passers so you can stop one and two more will burn you down court.

I think a lot of people are confusing this years team with last years team. It is the same but they are a year more experienced and have played together longer. Keep hating GRC because next year this team will be back...:eek::scared::ylsuper:

Its funny how you make the excuse about being a man short than mention how deep Holmes is :confused: Can it be both ways? Holmes played like they have already won this years state championship! They are not a deep team as everyone has said...foul trouble...injury...and they struggle missing two players! That is not my definition of deep! We will continue this conversation all year but the answer is in March. Clark County is playing with juniors this year. It is scary to think where they will be next year!:scared:

Like I said Humphrey played a lot of young players up until this point in the game....can we agree to disagree? My Opinion is...Holmes does not have the depth a team needs to win a state championship, simply MY opinion!:confused:

That was after a 14 point lead ending the first half and GRC playing most of the JV at this point! Holmes made this run to start the second half but that was all they could muster. GRC controlled the entire game if you score both halves together!

All I can tell you after watching GRC dismantle a good Holmes team is bring it on.....this group has the eye of the tiger look to them! Very focused and VERY on course feel to the team, like they know what they want and how to get it!:ylsuper:

Not sure if you saw the same game as I did. GRC was never behind in this one and Holmes was unable to overtake the lead even before the injured player left the game! Holmes does not have the depth to repeat. GRC is clearly a favorite at this point in my opinion! They played like a team on a mission and dismantled a talented Holmes team. By the end of the game the Holmes players were spent after facing wave after wave of GRC line ups. I thought Holmes played a little rough and took some cheap shots toward the end but they will beat a lot of teams......just not this one! The point guard for GRC was given to several players including a much improved Jaylen Daniels. His ball handling was much improved over a year ago. This team is for real and will be in rupp come march! Mark It Down!

I think every time I feel like a season is a wash I am made to eat crow!chomp chomp (spits feathers!). Good win by a gutsy GRC team. A lot of these kids are tough as nails....Mason Jones is one tough kid! :clap:

I am not sure where this kid has been the last three years but I hope he lives up to the expectations that seem to be put on his shoulders! I haven't seen the dominance that the Mason faithful obviously have. This GRC team has the look of a team with something special about them and I hope they begin to prove it one game at a time until March! By then all the hype will be records in the book and that is when the region will be decided! Let's play ball!:clap: :ylsuper:

Setty does not come close to the talent and hustle of Zollo! Setty is not a bad player but Zollo gets the edge there. He has been getting looks from D-1 schools since his freshman year and never really got his legs under him last year. I look for him to have a break out year. As far as Robbie Stenzel, with him all you can do is try to slow him down because you are not going to stop him! I hope Mason keeps underestimating GRC all year!:sssh:

From what I remember Setty is not the game changer that Mason has depended on in the past. He may have gotten better over the summer but he wasn't that impressive last year. Without Middleton, Mason "on paper" will not be the team they have been in the past. They seem to always pull something out of thier hat in March and beat Clark County, but my gut tells me that isn't the case this year. Anyone who says different is being a "Homer" and not being honest with themselves. No way this GRC team should be second to any one in the tenth region " on paper". I think Corey Rogers is the real game changer that is being over looked this year. With all the attention the rest of the teams gets his athleticism is over looked. This all is just my humble opinion of course!:popcorn:

We wouldn't be fans if we didn't cheer for our teams! Clark County will have 4 possibly 5 D-1 players starting and several very good players on the bench! We will see you at the Fieldhouse in march as usual my friend and may the best team win!:popcorn::ylsuper::taz:
