  1. APNW the moving of NCC and HC does make the district weaker....but the 4 seed has gone on the road and won many times and it was usually Bellevue Ludlow or Dayton. LCA does make the makeup of the other district very different as well. Although if you really look back HC only had two good years (last year being the only real good year) in the district so that might be in question.
  2. If you went back to the old playoff system traditionally those teams in the east have not faired well against the 3's and 4's from Northern Ky. I stand by the fact that Dayton, Ludlow and Bellevue are very even and could all play with just about anybody in the state in 1A. Maybe not Beechwood, Mayfield, or LCA but for the most part can compete. The key word being compete.
  3. I hate this mentality! Yes Beechwood should kill all opponents in the district. However...........you have to prepare kids to win. Ludlow, Bellevue and Dayton and yes Brossart all have to prepare to win and prepare kids to win. :thumb:
  4. I think the Holmes game changed the 2A state champion talk to lets get the 2 seed in the district. NCC by a large amount.
  5. Well the staff you had posted 3 wins in the first varsity season but was run out as soon as you changed administrations. Coach Faust is not exactly a coaching legend in Northern Ky. How many varsity wins did he have before coming to Bracken? Seriously that was a step backwards.
  6. Yeah this is really bad. Geez even Duke is scoring
  7. Bellevue and Dayton both have golf. No Tiger Woods but they do have golf.
  8. One thing we have to realize in Northern Ky. In class A and AA we have the very best teams in the state right here. Dayton, Ludlow and Bellevue all could beat the majority of A school around the state. FC you are correct in that these teams would split if they played more than once.
  9. Mexitucky that was exactly my point. NCC stopped the game as Highlands was at its highest point. And yes it was NCC that would not and still will not play Highlands. This to me is NCC's highest football point and Bellevue as not even considered dropping the game. Bellevue is working very hard to get its program back to a consistent level. This coaching staff will do that and ducking teams like NCC is not something they want to do.
  10. Oh and to the NCC faithful that is another great team and as always in this game a class act by the NCC coaches. However there are many schools that will not schedule NCC because they will not take the chance of playing them. Give Bellevue the credit as you could have been traveling to some distant corner of the state to find a game. Curious question to the NCC faithful.....why not the Birds on the schedule instead of the Tigers?????????
  11. After watching this game I can say that I don't know who in 2A is going to beat NCC. As far as Bellevue is concerned.........obviously a painful game to watch but.....if you truely want to compete against the best teams in your class you have to play games like this. It really points out the deficiencies and what needs to happen if you want to compete for first place in a district with Beechwood. Now I didn't say they were going to beat Beechwood or even come close........but playing the Carroll's and Trimble's before going into district play does not really give you a true sense of where you are against the upper echelon. This game does. Kudos to Bellevue for scheduling the likes of NCC, Newport and Lloyd for the non-conference games. Now before you say Newport is awful remember these games were scheduled in Oct. of last year.
  12. Wait a minute now. First of all I have no idea who we are talking about but the principal/AD at Bracken I feel is pretty top notch. But that is from an outside observation only. She seems to be able to do a great job.
  13. I have to agree that comparing schedules is a bad move. Look for an early indicator. A long drive by Bellevue or a turnover or 2 early will keep the game respectable. A quick score or two by the Breds will bring the blowout!!!!!!
  14. Good point but I think the schools have been making great improvments lately and the programs athletically are starting to come around.
  15. Dice do you really think this is a bad game for Bellevue to schedule? It helps give them a strong non district opponent The next two weeks are Brossart and Bracken so this is a game they really need to step up in to compete. When the return game is at Bellevue in 08 it is usually one of the largest crowds of the year and financially it is huge.
  16. Good post Mexitucky. Newcath does exude class even if I am not an NCC fan. I hope Bellevue can at least move the ball on them but even if they don't it is a great game for Bellevue to look at deficiences before playing more district opponents.
  17. I was talking about the 3 river schools. I am aware that Beechwood is playing them. My point was Bellevue is choosing to play NCC and NCC normally if not always shows class if these games become blowouts. I don't think Papa's points of badblood are valid and I know that the NCC people and the Bellevue administration get along just fine and in fact I know Bellevue and NCC were talking together about Bellevue borrowing the gym if the air conditioning construction in Bellevue caused the gym to be closed............
  18. Nobody male or female may play on an "outside school team" during the season of the school team IF they are on the school team. So.....if you play on a school team you cannot play anywhere else until the season is over. This rule applies to baseball and knothole and you have to wonder how many kids are violating this!
  19. NCC Proud Papa first of all Bellevue did not have to play NCC but continues to do so first for the need for great non district opponents and secondly because of the relationship between Bellevue's AD and NCC. Quite frankly NCC couldn't get any of the other small A schools to play them. This game is good for Bellevue and I do not see any need for any degrading of Bellevue's schedule. They play a very good non district schedule. In the past 4 years in both basketball and football NCC has NOT run up the score if the game has gotten out of hand. Give your coaches a little more credit than they don't like them so they will run it up. On the contrary things are very amicable and Bellevue has tremendous respect for NCC and NCC has shown Bellevue respect. If not then Bellevue would never have scheduled this game.
  20. And Dayton, Ludlow and Bellevue are not average class 1A schools this season. All three are as good as anybody ranked 4 - 10 in Class A. Unfortunately they are in a district with the very best in Beechwood. If we would still cross the districts for the playoffs this district would have a great chance to pull a sweep.
  21. Beechwood could move up and leave 4 teams in the 1A district and make 5 in the 2A district. So the "imbalance" argument is not a good one. However.......that being said I am one that feels teams should play where they belong. Beechwood is a class 1A school and should not be chastized for choosing to play where they belong. Keep in mind NCC did not choose to move up but were placed based on enrollment. This shows how there was a gap in the old system (which they still should be using) between the largest and smallest A schools. All that being said Nobody even remotely touches Beechwood this year and if we were under the old system what a great district game between NCC and Beechwood since both have a great chance to win state championships.
  22. I will be the first to come on here and say I expected a much better game. I still think Dayton will be the 2 seed in the playoffs.....
