I was talking about the 3 river schools. I am aware that Beechwood is playing them. My point was Bellevue is choosing to play NCC and NCC normally if not always shows class if these games become blowouts. I don't think Papa's points of badblood are valid and I know that the NCC people and the Bellevue administration get along just fine and in fact I know Bellevue and NCC were talking together about Bellevue borrowing the gym if the air conditioning construction in Bellevue caused the gym to be closed............

Nobody male or female may play on an "outside school team" during the season of the school team IF they are on the school team. So.....if you play on a school team you cannot play anywhere else until the season is over. This rule applies to baseball and knothole and you have to wonder how many kids are violating this!

NCC Proud Papa first of all Bellevue did not have to play NCC but continues to do so first for the need for great non district opponents and secondly because of the relationship between Bellevue's AD and NCC. Quite frankly NCC couldn't get any of the other small A schools to play them. This game is good for Bellevue and I do not see any need for any degrading of Bellevue's schedule. They play a very good non district schedule. In the past 4 years in both basketball and football NCC has NOT run up the score if the game has gotten out of hand. Give your coaches a little more credit than they don't like them so they will run it up. On the contrary things are very amicable and Bellevue has tremendous respect for NCC and NCC has shown Bellevue respect. If not then Bellevue would never have scheduled this game.

And Dayton, Ludlow and Bellevue are not average class 1A schools this season. All three are as good as anybody ranked 4 - 10 in Class A. Unfortunately they are in a district with the very best in Beechwood. If we would still cross the districts for the playoffs this district would have a great chance to pull a sweep.

Beechwood could move up and leave 4 teams in the 1A district and make 5 in the 2A district. So the "imbalance" argument is not a good one. However.......that being said I am one that feels teams should play where they belong. Beechwood is a class 1A school and should not be chastized for choosing to play where they belong. Keep in mind NCC did not choose to move up but were placed based on enrollment. This shows how there was a gap in the old system (which they still should be using) between the largest and smallest A schools. All that being said Nobody even remotely touches Beechwood this year and if we were under the old system what a great district game between NCC and Beechwood since both have a great chance to win state championships.

I will be the first to come on here and say I expected a much better game. I still think Dayton will be the 2 seed in the playoffs.....

Bredman if you are referring to the AA schools playing twice then you should have only referred to the AA not the A's. If I misunderstood I apologize...if not I stand by my statement.

Bredman unless you know the situation don't say it is stupid. What is stupid is having a freshman class with only 8 players and never getting to play any games. The frosh/soph combo allows a full schedule of games to these players. The A schools have frosh enrollments of 50 not 105 like NCC. With 50 freshman 1/2 or more being girls that leaves a total of 25 freshmen boys. If 1/2 play football that leaves a team of 12 or 13. This was a brilliant move on these schools part.

Same things were said 2 years ago when Bellevue played Beechwood and I believe Bellevue won than game. The arrogance that some Beechwood fans have that every once in a while yes a team can play with them is incredible. No on a consistent year after year basis Bellevue, Dayton, and Ludlow have not proven to be competitive.........but they do have years where they can and when you point this out the Beechwood faithful become very arrogant. This season Dayton has the ability to compete with Beechwood. That is all anybody is really saying. And.............if Holmes is not a good win what does that say for Holy Cross getting ripped by Holmes? Dayton is a good team.......and they can play with teams on a given night.

Just as an FYI.........Bellevue came dressed and had no lockerroom until 1/2 time at the Newport Bowl. And it was a great event!!!!!!! These things happen in bowl games.

Some schools have a problem with where some of the athletes that have played in the past live and therefore will not schedule HC. I suggest you talk to HC and the administration as they are fully aware that schools will not schedule them for these reasons. I will not comment on this any further since it borders on being too accusatory and don't want to single out kids.

Score comparisons I hate. Have you ever seen the one in SI where they can show how some DIII schlep should be ranked number 1 based on a huge tree of somebody beat so and so and that team beat Team C......and so on. Dayton is the real deal and beating Holmes was no fluke so I wouldn't say that was a game to show how bad Holmes is. Also......I am not to impressed with the HC schedule in the first three games but when most schools refuse to play you because of "roster issues" that is what happens. I think the Indians are a quality team but the first real test is the NCC game. I wouldn't put a whole lot of stock in the first 3 opponents. ON a positive note what a weekend for the small schools in NK.........Dayton, NCC, HC, Bellevue, Beechwood.......ouch!!!!!!!

Bellevue defense was much improved especially the DB's............Neither offense performed particularly well but The Buckler kid did make a great catch in the end zone for a TD. IF Bellevue can get their offense going they will be ok. Newport again played really good defense but............snaps from center in the shot gun were an adventure at best and caused many problems. This can be fixed though. I love the QB's running ability. He made several crazy runs running across the field and avoiding numerous tacklers.

Yeah this argument is pretty lame. NCC would have 0 state championships if the played Trinity and St. X every year in the big school division.................okay so what they are a SMALL school......I believe that is why we have classes. And if I remember correctly NCC has been playing Ryle the past few years and I am not sure the last time the Camels even beat the Breds. Now about the game. NCC very impressive in the short passing game. Oh I am not an NCC alum either

Wow.....it does seem like this is a playoff games to a few folks. Maybe we should adjust our records of NCC and Dixie to include that game....:sleep: Since nobody has posted this I am going with a Bracken Co. break of the streak and a 2 - 8 record.:thumb:
