  1. No kidding AI.....I would love to see schools sign others and run out of scholarships
  2. Can someone please post both teams schedules? Yes I am being too lazy to look them up
  3. I also think your new coach is making sure it is much more public where he goes and how he is recruiting. Further.....I mean at best over the next two years he will get 3 - 5 blue chip players......no room for others in the program. You can't sign everybody. If you look at next year's senior class I believe there are that many blue chips in that class. Your new coach is a very smart recruiter and also a very public recruiter.
  4. There are a few schools names who still have enough "tradition" but that is ever changing based on the balance in college basketball, the limitation of scholarships, and the TV exposure given to all conferences instead of the game of week scenario. I have thought about this alot and I think the teams whose names carry "tradition" weight (I look at this as different than current exposure and playing good in the last few NCAA's ) are: NC Duke UK UCLA Kansas Indiana (to a lesser degree than the others) Do I think other schools from current successes can out recruit??? Yes....but these schools can rely on tradition when recruiting.:thumb:
  5. I was questioning a post that said Frankfort would be state champs in A. I don't think anybody would argue that you have to beat Beechwood to do that. Especially with NCC moving into 2 A. Now........there are plenty of others in A that will be capable of a state championship. However Beechwood is the traditional powerhouse.
  6. This would have been 6 years ago. Yeah one thing is for certain if the NKYFL would have taken them 7 years ago when they approached the board things would have been very different today.
  7. Oh I just made a quick phone call to the previous Super. who is now in Bellevue to make sure what I posted was correct and it is 100% correct on the youth football situation. They had 5th and 6th grade football first.
  8. All - In you are dead wrong. Bracken started with a 5th and 6th grade team then a Jr. High then started in the High school. They had football for three years before they played varsity football. These are the 100% correct facts as I know the guys that started it personally (the Olliers) and the teams were coached by Joe Felice. They had several meetings with NKYFL and were voted down to join. At that time they received a lot of support from Tim Kaelin who ran the Raiders and Newport's organization supported them joining but didn't get much support from the other organizations. Let me know if you need any more correct info on this.
  9. Bellevue has one of the best fields in Northern Ky. as the school has put a tremenous amount of time in to it. It is wonderful! Unfortunately they have not done this amount of work to other fields in the district
  10. I think you guys need a Trimble vs Frankfort thread:jump: I am hoping Bracken can get the numbers going this year. That would be the place to start.
  11. I think right now they are top 10. If they get those two then I say top 3
  12. Getting this back to Bracken County now............I remember when they started the program. They did it the right way with a youth program. However the NKYFL would not let them in. That left them scrambling. Also the previous superintendent (who I know and have talked to about this) really pushed the program and they won 3 games the first year of varsity including a win at Dayton. In fact they played Ludlow very close and almost beat them. Since he has left things have fallen completely apart in the football program due to apathy in the administration and a disinterest in keeping football going. I am glad that someone posted that they have a renewed interest in the program. The former coaches (Ollier's now at Brossart) did a great job but fell out of favor with the administration and received 0 support.
  13. The only thing Bracken will give fits too is its own coaching staff. They are fortunate though to be out of Northern Ky.
  14. I believe 3 or 4 of his starters are freshman.
  15. Bellevue's varsity is 8th grade and frosh. If they rested the varsity they would be playing grade school kids. But a good showing for the Tigers.....a team going in the right direction
  16. Who are the best? I think Holy Cross and Lloyd are looking like great teams. Dayton is surprising me and Bellevue has the coaching to do well in the tourney. Anybody else?
  17. And any indication what way he is leaning?
